It’s been a while since I tried the MVC Rental program. I did it once near the beginning of my ownership and it was around $1600 when fees were around $1800. Submitted my Ko Olina 2Br OV week for 2024 and the offer came back at $2500. If memory serves me, this is barely above 2023 maintenance fees.

I declined the offer.

Even exchanging my week for points and renting them out would net me about $1000 more. Once again, the best value comes from using your week.

I've used it once and inquired a couple of other times. The one time I used it was for MGO and the return was well above fees and fairly competitive with other options. The one issue some might have is they'll send you a 1099, not a big deal to me as I'd report it anyway. Let me add that the other times I inquired, it simply wasn't available.

Still, it's a good option for someone that doesn't want to go through the hassle and risks of renting it themselves and is looking to get back more than what they paid for the maintenance fees. For them this offer is a sure thing.

The MF for MKO 2023 was about $2760 or so for the 2br units.
