We like Lakeshore also for the best “resort” feel. They have a great bar and decent bar menu. They have a nice little store there and the lazy river is great. It’s always crowded though, it feels like they have 100% occupancy all the time. We have to get out early if we want to get our prime location, which is in the shade

. When there we also enjoy walking over to the JW to have a meal or two.
Note, IMO, The JW waterpark is probably not worth the charge for most people, because unless you’re going to do the slides a lot, you might as well just stay at Lakeshore and use their lazy river. (We were there recently and it didn’t even seem like lots of people were using the slides.)
We also really like Sabal Palms too, for a different vibe. It’s older, but its pool is usually empty and we have it to ourselves or maybe there’s three or four other people there.. There’s no real services there though, so it’s a “do it yourself” vacation. Sometimes we bring a cooler to the pool. Of course you can go over to the World Center, Marriott. I don’t know if they’re charging for the regular pool now, we haven’t been there since they started charging for the new “Waterpark”. We usually go over to the Marriott for a couple of meals when we’re there since it’s a short walk from Sabal.
What we like most about Sabal is that it’s very quiet and it’s a really relaxing time for us.
