Does anyone know where you can look up what views are offered at a given Marriott Property?

I know there's an amazing resource created by Dioxide45 here but as that list wasn't created specifically with views in mind I'm not sure it's complete.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

I think the Marriott DC points chart would be most comprehensive. Pls send me a PM and I can send to you. Thx!

Are you referring to the point charts on my-vacationclub.com that tells you breakdown of points per day and for specific time periods?

https://www.my-vacationclub.com/en-us/owners/2_pointsCharts.jsp

I'll save GregT some time and answer this as he kindly pointed me in the right direction :).

Yes, that's what he meant. The views (as you've probably noticed) are on the top right of the pages (for resorts that have designated views - It's blank for those that don't).

I'm just reviewing the views that the various MVCI resorts have as per the "Vacation Chart Points Charts" booklet that you get when you join DC and I noticed that Beachplace Towers doesn't have any views listed. This seems strange considering the pics of the building seem to show ocean views (ocean front?) and possibly Oceanside. Does anyone know what the views at this resort are and if the Marriott Booklet is correct?

The booklet is correct. While Beach Place Towers does have Ocean Views and Inter-coastal Views, Marriott didn't sell the resort with any view designations. An owner or guest staying there can be placed in either view and there is no guaranty that they will fulfill any request that you make for a specific view.

This is much the same as Newport Coast Villas, there are some unit with fabulous ocean views and others with no ocean view, but the entire resort is in a single view designation. IMO (along with at BPT) was so Marriott could sell 100% of the units as an Ocean View. Am I wrong to assume that the model villas had great ocean views?

More great info. Thank you!

What I use, which is general vs Marriott-oriented, is Google Earth. I just type in the address of the resort and get an aerial view. Then I focus in on which building I am interested in and see what is in that direction.

I also noted that Google Earth has a new feature now where you cut/drag the little person icon over to the spot on the map and and it takes you down to the street level as if you were there. Very interesting, but may not work in every location, I assume.

Anyone know why the Marriott Vacation Club Points Charts (mentioned earlier in this thread) doesn't list views for Frenchman's Cove or St. Kitts but almost all postings on RW show these properties as having some sort of designated view?

I can't find any mention of a view for Phuket Beach Club in Marriott's info either but, again, postings on RW seem to indicate that there are views associated with some of the units.

I see different view designations for St Kitts on the Points Chart. St Thomas doesn't have different view designations.

So do I now...not sure how I missed that. Sorry!

St. Thomas doesn't have different view designations.

Thanks for the confirmation. I guess those posting on RW are just calling the view what they consider them to be regardless of Marriott's designation (or lack of designation).

All units at PBC face in the same direction - into the gardens. In a very few cases a top floor unit might have a restricted view of the ocean through the tree tops. There was no view classification on sales. All units were the same other than for season classification and for the early sales of week 51 and 52 platinum plus units but again what actual unit you are assigned when staying there is a matter of luck. Assignments are actually made only 24 hours prior to check in.

We always request a general location in the resort but to get a specific unit you will typically end up disappointed.

Adding to Malcs comments, even the top floor units which had a restricted view of the ocean through the tree tops have been losing this over the last couple of years as the trees have grown.
The gardens are spectacular though, so almost all villa views will be pleasing.
