I'm thinking about adding on 3 nights to my Marriott Kauai Beach Club week.
Does the other Marriott have a friendshare promo for only 3 nights if I take the tour?

I used to own Marriott, but I no longer do. I have never taken a Marriott tour, would I qualify?

Or any other thoughts on a few extra nights anywhere in Kauai for a decent price in July?

MAW does have hotel rooms. Why not call them and see what they'll do. Since they're very much in active sales, I'm sure they'll be flexible.

IME, the only people who don't qualify for tours are dead. If you're breathing and can get there, they want you :) I know they have "rules", but you know how salespeople are ;)

You might check with SPG for a preview up at Princeville. Beautiful resort, IMO, and the views are breathtaking. Worth evening drinks, at the least.

:D You're funny. And you're also 100% "dead on" about MVCI and tour invites. However, I've been told that a Marriott owner can't tour more than once a year. Don't know if that still holds as a rule of MVCI or not. Anyone else know?

The rule on how often you can tour is not consistently applied accross the MVCI resorts. I have only been told I couldn't take a tour once in the past 12 years. That time it I denied a tour opportunity because I had purchased within the last 12 months.

Very true. We were offered (and accepted) a getaway at Shadow Ridge 7 months after buying at Newport. The mess that turned into was the subject of a thread on the old BBS. I ended up eating the money, because I just couldn't get them onto the same page. It just wasn't worth it.

Won't keep us from taking more tours/getaways in the future, though :) IIRC, they said we could do a getaway at our home resort 18 months after purchase. Time's up :D
