Marriott Owner Seeking Candid Reviews of HVC - Hacienda Del Mar (Dorado, PR)

I stayed at La Concha and another Marriott property, but found the uber/cab thing kind of annoying. The only big name hotel is the Sheraton and it's not got the greatest reviews these days. I'll have a car for Dorado, but would prefer not to deal with it if I'm going downtown. Seems like a lifetime ago.

I spent 4 nights at the Hyatt House in San Juan before switching to Dorado. There is a Hyatt Place right across the street. Both hotels share a shuttle that runs until 5:30pm and stops at the beach, Old San Juan and the T-Mobile District.

Thanks for the tip. I booked the Hyatt House for the night before our cruise. That should be a nice transition from a 1BR unit at the timeshare. I used 15k WOH points and will convert that to using our free night once that hits our account. Based on your feedback and the reviews I read, this is a much better option for us than either of the Sheraton hotels.

We're going on Jewel OTS next week. I looked at staying at Hacienda Del Mar pre-cruise but passed. Instead we're staying where we always stay, Condado Beach, San Juan Marriott.

I am checking out today. Overall, we had a great and relaxing stay and we are already talking about coming back next year. The staff are very helpful, attended to every request timely and the resort is in great condition. Everything about the resort felt just right. It isn't too big, not very crowded, the pool is big enough and the beach is beautiful. I found the Mahi Mahi Bar and Grill is just ok but there are other options including good Uber Eats delivery (Katrina and Metropol.)

I could see wanting a car if staying for a longer period of time. The one time we had a hard time getting an Uber, it was raining. That could have had an impact. We were able to get an Uber XL confirmation almost as soon as we requested one to go to the airport.
