Marriott Maui (MM1) - what does "HTOVI" mean?

We just got a confirmation into the marriott Maui Lahaina & Napili Villas, via Interval International (II)

II has unit described as "HTOVI"

1) what does "HTOVI" mean? I was speculating the "OV" meant Ocean View?
2) if true, does that mean Marriott would give us an ocean view even though we are exchangers?

We are just happy to get the exchange, but an ocean view would simply be icing on the cake.

Sorry to be the bearer of "bad news", but that unit code is a Marriott deposited dedicated 2 bedroom island view I believe.

Thanks, but it's at the marriott so I scored. View would have been nice but that's OK. At the marriott instead of the westin hotel so huge upgrade for us. Only costing us 4,000 worldmark credits (about $240 in maintenance fees) + exchange fee so FANTASTIC OGS confirmation within 59 days. We are ecstatic to check out the marriott villas purpose built with w/d and full kitchen. Almost woke my wife up at midnight when I got the confirmation from II at 11:45pm.

We are so EXCITED to get to stay there. WOW!

We had a dedicated two bedroom in Napili a couple of years ago. Although the living room faced the mountains, we had an angled ocean view from a window just inside the front door, overlooking the grills, and also from the end of the lanai on the left side, when facing the mountains from the living room. Of course we had to look around the corner of the lanai, so not the same as a straight ocean view, but actually a nice view for at least being able to check the the happenings on the ocean front without leaving the villa. We were high enough the parking garage behind Napili was not a problem, but maybe only third or fourth floor. We were exchanging, but last year we exchanged to Maui, we had a great ocean view in Molokai, facing the open grass and ocean in front of Napili, first unit back from oceanfront.

They may be changing policy, but at MOC, and actually every other exchange where view mattered, we have always been given the view we received from II.

Good luck. It is a great resort, ocean view or not!

What an unbelievable trade for $240 in maintenance fees, congrats! The Maui Ocean Club is such a great resort in the heart of the action, and lots to do on property too. Don't forget to reward the rest of us with pics when you return...

I am here at MOC now on an II exchange. My confirmation is for 1 bedroom ocean front villa. Even though the marriott welcome email states we will be given island view and owners will get better view, we did get ocean front 5th floor on Molakai building upon checkin. I don't think we can get a room any closer to the ocean. Very happy with the room assignment. Now if only MOC hs a full kitchen.

The OP said Westin hotel. I assume they were originally staying in an actual hotel room versus the WKORV/WKORVN property.

Yes, wow, fantastic. THANK YOU. Looks like we're on the first floor. Would prefer above first floor, but once again, going from small hotel room to newest building at marriott Maui ocean club 2 bedroom is huge upgrade that we are both thankful and looking forward to.

They'll assign the floor when you get there, so you may not be on the first floor. Nevertheless, it was a great nab, and enjoy your trip! Definitely on my "to do" list!
