I just attended a presentation from UDI Consulting who mentioned that Marriott may be switching from II to RCI, they also said that any lid on maintaince fees in the original sales contract are no longer in effect. Has anyone attended a UDI presentation? They are asking you to give your timeshare to RCI and pay a small yearly fee and in return you will receive RCI points and rid yourself of maintaince fees.
Let me guess he wants you to buy points in new new system. No Marriott is not planing to move to RCI. In fact they have tender an offer to buy the company that owns II.
Sounds like the "grapevine" garbled the message aka the game of telephone. What it likely is: Marriott weeks will be able to do week to week exchanges in II (because there is no way to exchange otherwise), but D.C. Points will NOT be able to externally exchange for other Marriotts because they want you to use the D.C. Points internal exchange. Just the same way you can't exchange into another Hyatt via II using Hyatt points. You want Hyatt, you use the internal points chart. That's probably what will be Changing.

I can’t readily think why any Trust or Enrolled Points owner would not want to use the MVC internal exchange option anyway, but Points can not be externally exchanged through Interval for other Marriotts now.
