I am wondering if it’s worth the extra points to stay in the Ocean View Penthouse level vs just staying in Ocean View category on lower floors? It looks like the advantage of Penthouse level is high ceilings and potentially a better view from being higher up. Are these benefits worth it? Do you know what building is better if we go for the Penthouse level?

I don't know how much more it costs in points or dollars, but If you've never experienced it, and you have the opportunity, I say do it. The view is amazing, and yes the high ceilings make the room very spacious.

It's about 20% more. But if you are a view person, looks fantastic.

Most likely if you book 2br penthouse ov with 2 entrances you will be in Kona or Moana. If you book single entry it will be most likely in Naia.

Getting vol_90 room is going to be difficult. There is only one penthouse 2br lockoff in Kona that has that direct view on floor 11 and one on floor 9. There are about 6 more ph ov in kona besides those 2. Many more ph ov in Moana. Kona has less ph rooms because the sales center is on the top 2 floors.

Also ... penthouse is only one guaranteed to be a high floor. You could get a low floor with ocean view that you only see trees, bushes or the activity hut. Happened to us on a short, 5 nights, stay. 3rd floor Moana.

The only 2 BR ocean view penthouse left was with 2 entry doors. I booked for 10 nights so it was rather limited in choices for next year during Easter week, which is our Spring Break. After I booked it, there were no more 2 BR PH OVs left. We booked the last one. Do you have any suggestions of which building I should request?

Our last stay was in a 2bed OV penthouse in Kona bldg with a view of the luau. Imo the high ceiling didn't make a huge impact to us but the very large entry way did. That space was like an extra room.

Wouldn’t the large entry be the same in any 2 BR? I would assume it is not different between different 2 BRs

The oceanfront units have a little extra space like foyer. Actually the units at both ends of the buildings have this foyer. Forgot these end units also has a balcony off the master bedroom. So these units have 3 balconies. One for master bedroom, one for the living room and one for the studio side.

IIRC about half of the 2br penthouse are lockouts in Naia. The rest are dedicated 2br units. If I have time this coming week I will take a ride up to Naia 15tor 16th floor and count them.

If we have 4 or more people, we get 2 rollaways if we are in the end units. One in the little study of the master bedroom and one in the foyer. We just put a sheet over the large window for some privacy. Love that little space to store all our things.

It was a good 15 weeks in those units right @vol_90?

I am currently in a penthouse unit Hale Nai 31604. The view is Ocean, lagoon and Marina. Yes, the ceilings are high. Skylight windows and one dedicated entrance to the two bedroom unit. This is my first visit here through a trade, my confirmation said Mountain View. No mountains in my view. Guess I got lucky!

Booked with MVC DPs. Been Chairman's club level for years. First time it has happened. But only booked 5 nites and checked in on Wednesday. When I booked the only 2 bed OV was the 2 of a 3. Wasn't first choice, rather only choice. When we use our owner's week which is IV 2 bed we request and always get high floor Naia tower facing the harbor. We really enjoy watching the activity in the harbor. One time the sailing ship used in Pirates of the Caribbean was tied up over there.

Thanks for sharing the 3rd floor view. I hope my II exchange gets us into a higher penthouse floor (HZZBA).

It’s my understanding that the room number is the building (single digit) followed by floor (two digits) followed by unit number (two digits)
- Building 1 is Kona
- Building 2 is Moana
- Building 3 is Naia

If you have the extra points, I'd go for PH. It at least guarantees you the highest floor, which will have some form of a nice view.

While I know no 3BDs were deeded PH....does the top floor for the 3BRs have PH high ceilings and skylight windows? Or not on 3BRs?
