Which would you chose and why? Need a one night stay pre cruise. I am thinking of splurging and staying at the Marriott Harbor Beach, but not sure if it is worth the extra cost. Maybe I will just stat at the Courtyard on the beach. Anyone stayed at any of the properties in FLL?

Is it part of your vacation or just a place to sleep?

We live in South Florida and have stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach for mini romantic get aways and also as a mini family vacation. We live about 8 miles from the resort - so obviously it is very nice.

If you are wanting for this stay to be part of your vacation - then it is worth the extra money. The hotel is beautiful, the restaurants are outstanding, the staff excellent and the beach is wonderful. If you can get your flight to come in early, you could check in and have a wonderful start to your vacation.

But, if you have a late flight and are not going to have time to enjoy the property - then perhaps the Marriott Courtyard will work fine. I say it is a vacation and try to book the extra time to enjoy Fort Lauderdale if possible.

Although I am a big Marriott fan ( & own 2 weeks @ Ocean Pointe near West Palm), when in the FLL area I often stay @ Pelican Beach Resort instead of Marriott. www.pelicanbeach.com You may want to check it out.

Smooth Air:cool:

I'm a big Marriott fan, but when in the Fort Lauderdale area, I stay at Holiday Inn Highland beach. Do NOT laugh. It's ocean front - gorgeous - pool bar - great beach - fabulous rooms. 160 a night for an ocean front.

It's about 30 minutes from FLL so it may not be helpful - but it sure is a great place! I'm going in November. Nice area- Mizner Park has awesome restaurants.

I've only stayed at the Harbor Beach property. It was around 7 years ago before a cruise but it is one of the nicest Marriott hotel properties I've ever stayed at. We didn't know it at the time but according to the bellman we were on the elevator with Mr. Marriott as we were checking out.
