I thought I was told that owners get a discount when staying at Marriott hotels but I don't know how to take advantage of that. Can someone experienced help a newbie?

From Points FAQ Sticky…..

Discounts for cash stays at the MVCI resorts (and very infrequently, at certain of the Marriott hotels/resorts) are capacity-controlled and based on ownership status:
Presidential and Chairman's Club DC Members - 35% off (code "2VC")
Executive DC Members - 30% off (code "6VC")
Select DC Members and Weeks Owners not affiliated with the DC - 25% off (code "7VC")

*When checking availability on marriott.com, enter the appropriate code in the "Corporate/promotional code" box under "Special Rates."

*Owners may also book discount cash stays through the owners.marriottvacationclub.com website. Sign in --> click on "Owner Benefits" under "Partners & Specials" in the column on the right of the home page --> click on "Enjoy 25% off ..." under "Marriott International, Inc. Promotions" --> scroll through and click on "Explore" for the desired resort --> select "Corporate/Promo" in the dropdown menu for the "Special Rate Code" box and your eligibility code should pop up automatically when you click on the "Enter Code Here" prompt.

Thank you. We own a week. Is anything different because of that?

I’ve never seen the codes work for anywhere other than a MVC resort.

Agree with this. Everything other than MVCs says rate unavailable when you use the discount code- even the Shearaton, & Vistana ones.

Vistana owners have a different discount code for 25% off that includes MVC so I would think MVC has reciprocal benefits for Vistana (WVC and SVC).

Not in recent years.
The old owner discount codes e.g. MOD, Y83, Y85, P34, P33 were often able to be used for discounts in Marriott hotels

Any idea where this information would be? I've checked Vistana's dashboard and cannot find anything...

Thanx, but that is for TS resort stays, OP was questioning Hotel discounts and that was what I was looking for.

MVC is the timeshare, MVC owners get discounts when booking rooms at the timeshares.
Bonvoy points would be used for hotels stays.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think owning an MVC TS gets you a reduced rate at hotel. It does give you a bonvoy membership and level that offers perks.
