Marriott vs MVC

Just a thought....

Now that the Vacation Club has been spun off, will the Marriott Gift Cards be usable at the MVCI to pay for charges to the unit during your stay?

I had the same question.

From the FAQ at LINK

Q. Where can I use my Marriott GiftCard?

A. Marriott GiftCards can be used at any participating Marriott properties, including JW Marriott, Edition, Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, AC Hotels by Marriott, Fairfiled (sic) Inn and Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, and Marriott Vacation Club.

The Vacation Club properties are franchises just like some other Marriott branded properties. So yes, they will work.

I think if you are buying over $1000 in cards, you have to ship via Express: 2-3 Business Days $8.50. Under that and you can ship for $1.00 with USPS. Try breaking up your order.

thinze3,

I'm having difficulty catching what you're saying. Could you please explain it a bit more for me?

Thanks,
Quilter

Here is an example. At this Residence Inn, the nightly is rate is only $10 more per night if you choose the "Escape Your Way" room package. With this package you get a $25 gas card per night. After paying with your Marriott Visa and using your elite status, the underlying cost of that $25 card may only be about $6-7 if your value points at $.016 each like I do.

Rate Rules
Escape Your Way, 25 USD gas card, see Rate Rules
