Pretty sure the answer is no but does anyone know if these cards are able to be used at Marriott Hotel Casino's? Have a couple of hundred dollars left on a card and will be using it for dinner but I wanted to know if I could somehow do a cash advance on the remaining balance to be used at the casino?

Looks like you got the answer to you question. I am bummed I heard you can not use them for your maintenance fee anymore. I used one last year for my maintenance fee. Now that was a good deal :)

I know it worked last year, but I hear it will not work this year. :bawl:

If you still have some of the old Visa debit based cards left, the should still work. Though the new gift cards that Marriott rolled out this year won't work unless Marriott provides the functionality to do so.

Use the gift card for all food and drinks, and save that money for gambling!

Real bummer about the new cards not available for maintenance fees this year :bawl:

You know you gave me a good idea. I'm just going to use what I have left on my 2 cards (around $450) on my maintenance fee's for 2012. This way I'll get points credit for that and I'll just use 20,000 pts. for a dinner for 2 certificate and just use our cash for a little gambling! Thanks all! Yea, and bummer Marriott got wise to us using them for maintenance fee's and took that option away!

Not sure how you will get points credit by using the gift cards to pay the MFs? Also note that this was tricky for many to do last year, so YMMV.

I also don't think Marriott switched gift card providers because of people using them to pay their MFs. Their old gift cards were horrible and properties could never get them to work right. They were also a rather unusual gift card product being just a repackaged Visa debit card. Of course early indications were that the new ones weren't much better. Though I think they may have some of the kinks ironed out.
