Marriott Destination Escapes availability

We own both MVC and Vistana and have booked the Destination Escapes in prior years using our MVC ownership. It is a great benefit, but a little quirky. The availability can be booked up very fast so when its posted, you need to jump on it. Also, you can't book directly on line, you need to call in and get them to book it. The list of availability only comes out every couple of months or so and only shows availability for the next couple of months. But if you can book them, they are very cheap!

With this new abound program, we experimented and converted our KORN ownership to abound points for next year. With those points we were able to book into a normal MVC property on line, but when we called in to try to book a destinations escape, the system wouldn't allow it. The rep we were speaking to didn't know why and so contacted her supervisor, who told her to contact another supervisor, etc. Maybe just a bug in the system. After a long time on hold, we ended up get disconnected so we never got our booking.

Thank for the heads up. :) I was wondering about the frequency and booking process.
Hopefully the bug will get resolved soon.

It doesn't seem easy to get to from the Vistana side other than that search you ran.

In my (actual) MVC account I can get to it from the "Destinations" tab (and also there is a link in the "Resources/Vacation Options" tab that gets you there). But the MVC account from the Vistana side doesn't have the Resources tab, while the Destinations tab content is different and slimmer.

I‘ve been using the “Destinations” Tab
  1. select one of the dropdown options under “Travel Essentials”
  2. select “Marriott Vacation Club Destination Escapes” from the left hand column
  3. select “Click here to see Marriott Vacation Club Destination Escapes vacations”

Interesting to see those dates for Custom House. I’d like to go there sometime, but checked my calendar and saw that I was actually at a conference those days last March. Availability next March, i.e., 2024, would be better instead. I’m sure there aren’t a lot of folks able to make an Escape work for dates seven months in the past.

LOL, I was wondering why March 2024 availability was posted when the note at the bottom of each table states "Cannot be reserved for more than 60 days prior to the arrival date."
I didn't notice the wrong year was posted for Boston. :shrug:

Just being sloppy. This usually happens when the person responsible is overworked and pushed to just get things done as fast as possible.

You can get to it from the Destinations menu and then selecting the Destinations Escapes option.

Well that's absolutely not made my day as I have 2x2BR reserved for one of those dates and paid full points price. I did do it 12 months in advance though as needed peace of mind around long term family vacation plans for 10-12 of us.
