Marriott Day Use

I read where people use their TS properties for day use. We live too far away to usually do this. However, we will be in So. Cal for a week in May. Do Marriott TS have day use programs? Specifically does NCV? TIA

I think so. I know that the Palm Desert Marriotts do, so my assumption is NCV does as well. I would call the resort to verify. Good luck

Must go to spa desk, or front desk...whatever, to register. Otherwise anyone could walk into facility or pool area, etc. and say they're owners. At desk, they'll check your ID, look you up in the owners list, and then give you an official DAY PASS, which is a little card with date on it. At pool, sometimes they'll walk around and check people's credentials, i.e., unit number and name, and cross-check with current occupants. Then you'll show a day pass if that's how you're visiting. Personally, I'm glad they check this way. jme

They SHOULD only be used/issued at your home resort where you own, because I would raise _ _ _ _ if someone went into my home resort and used the facilities without being an owner. That's what we bought it for. Hope that doesn't sound selfish, but it's the truth. It would be like walking into someone's back yard and saying, "Oh, we're just here for the day...where can I get towels?" Wow, I go ballistic when people are not true owners or true guests of owners currently occupying....and I will fight to my death to have this policy enforced. Unwelcomed visitors would contribute to the crowdedness of a pool, putting green, outdoor grille, etc. and displace some actual owner and family. Honestly, that would simply not be fair. Taking a tour and viewing a property is one thing....USING the facilities is quite another...... jme

Not all Marriotts offer day use. I called Mountainside (or was it Summit Watch) and was told that they don't.

Surfwatch has day passes, a limited number, for owners, on a first come-first serve basis.

I assume other Hilton Head resorts also do the same. I noticed while at Grande Ocean last Labor Day week that a good number of pool guests did not have the resort towels, therefore were probably day guests.

IMHO, I am not sure there is any way they can manage or restrict the guest usage, other than with parking space restriction. If they cannot manage the towels that sit on empty chairs all day, how can they manage people that may not have guest passes!!!!!

Hey guys. I have a different take on this since we are all Marriott vacation club owners. I do not see the harm in letting us occasionally go use a swimming pool at another resort that we do not own. I mean, as long as you do not constantly go back to one resort to use a swimming pool and other facilities, all of us pay good money to belong to the club, so why don't we have the privilege of occasionally using one of the resort facilities, especially when we are traveling? Actually, if we decide to let occasional use of resorts. Maybe this can be a way of free advertisements for potentially new Marriott owners to purchase.

Last time we had an owner's stay at NCV, they still had day use. At that time, procedure was to go to Administration, provide owner number and get a card key. Pools (and I assume other public areas which we haven't visited) are accessed with your room card. With day use, you just can't get into a room

IIRC, the program wasn't a guaranteed benefit, but rather an experiment, at least at the time we bought there. It was for NCV owners only at that time. I don't know if the rules have changed or not.

NCV offers day use for owners, but you have to be a NCV owner, not just a Marriott owner.

Only a few a day are offered

The day passes at the Hilton Head resorts are extremely limited. I assume the same holds true for the other resorts offering day passes. So there is no need to worry about non owners inundating the pool and pushing out owners.
