We are looking into buying a timeshare for Marriott Surf Club that offers biannual (2x per year) usage. Does anyone know if you can use book 2 units for the same week with biannual usage or if the 2 weeks must be at different times during the year? We've asked the sales agent and he said the same week could be booked but he also seemed confused by the questions. Any help sorting this out is much appreciated.

This is most likely to be two weeks sold in one package. You would theoretically be able to get the same week with 2 units but it will be more complicated. You would be able to do it online by booking one unit and once that is done you would be able to book the other unit if still available for the same week. You could also call in but the rep will book the first unit and would then have to book the second one for the same week after that, if still available.
That is if both weeks fall within the same season you want to book.

This is not just a semantic quibble - biannual means every other year. Are you sure that what's being offered is semi-annual (2x per year)? Is that what the ad says? I have definitely heard of biannual usage but not semi-annual.

Agree sounds like an eoy or every other year. I have one of those eoy even years at surf club.

For example I reserve in even years. Could also be a 2br lock off. You can split That unit into 2 separate reservations. You could also deposit into II and trade for another location.

I thought biennial means every other year and biannual (bi annual) means 2 times per year. There is no such thing as a biannual marriott contract. Two deeds would give you 2 reservations per year. Biennial contracts do exist on the other hand. So the question would be is the OP confused or the seller confused or is the seller actually selling two deeds but calling it biannual.

To make things a little easier, it doesn't seem that Marriott sold every other year in Aruba.

How did I end up with an eoy even year at ASC?
I just went off all the records in the ROFR database. Not a single one indicates EOY. Perhaps they did and in the 10+ years of the database no one has logged one.

Edit: Looked again, there does appear to be one EOY Surf Club out of the 77 logged. They must be pretty rare.
