I have a question on Marriott Timeshares. If reserving a week at a particular location do you have to pay parking fees generally? I am with Hyatt and you only have to at one location Sunset in Key West.

If I trade through Interval is there parking fees? One place I'm looking at is the one in Oahu Hawaii.

Any answers greatly appreciated.

At most of the properties, there is no parking fee for either owners or non-owners. There are some exceptions. I suggest you check the web page for the property you are interested in. It will indicate whether there is a daily parking fee.

I believe it depends on the resort. Most Marriott timeshares have free parking but for example, BeachPlace Towers in Fort Lauderdale has a parking structure and charges $14/day for non-owners who are staying there. Owners staying during their ownership week get the parking for free. I cannot speak for any resorts in Hawaii. I would call the resort and ask.

The only two I've come across that have parking fee's are Beachplace Towers in Fort Lauderdale and Custom House in Boston. Custom House has very limited parking and is valet only.

At one point in time I recall posts about Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe having parking fee's. It seems to me that last I saw on this was that Marriott owners could park for free but outside exchangers were being charged a fee. I am definately not 100% certain. Hopefully someone with better knowledge on the parking situation at Timber Lodge will chime in.

If you're considering the Ko'Olina property on Oahu, the parking charge is $30 per day!! They waive this parking charge for Marriott owners (even if you own at another Marriott property). Otherwise you'll have to pay the parking charge. They verify ownership with their Marriott computer system, no need to take Marriott ID with you.

I've had two exchanges into Marriott Ko Olina this year and both time we were given one free parking and it was $15/day to park an additional car. We are not Marriott owners.

I have been to Ko Olina and Timber Lodge on exchanges, Get Aways, DC points and the parking fee has been waived in all cases. I every case when I look at the resevation on Marriott, it gives the parking fee. At check in I have always been told that parking is not charged for exchanges.

Actually, there is no parking fee for one car for any II exchangers at Ko Olina. There would be a fee for non-Marriott owners who stay on MR points or who rent for cash.

I was just there in May and I traded in as an exchange - I did not have to pay nor did I have to at the Marriott Ocean Club in December and March, both exchanges as well.
