Has anyone ever used the Marriott Rental Program?

I have a fixed week 52 platinum plus week at Ko-Olina. I am also enrolled in the points program.

I know I won't be using it in 2012, so I thought I'd put in a feeler to the MVCI Rental program to see what would be offered.

The quote I got back was $1420 - what a joke! It doesn't even cover the maintenance fees. On top of that, on reading the fine print, as a Canadian citizen, a further 30% is held back!

I guess I won't be using them, but I just wanted to see what anyone else's experience was.

Also, being fairly new to this, if I were to list on another site, when would be a good time to post it, seeing that the rental wouldn't be until December 2012?

Thanks!

Why not rent it yourself and eliminate the middleman? There are multiple avenues to do so; TUG, Redweek, MyResortNetwork, ebay, etc...

I will rent it myself. I was just curious to see what Marriott would offer......

When do you think is the best time to post a listing for rental in Dec 2012?

As soon as possible. I listed a week 52 for Aruba 2011 in January 2011 and it was rented in two weeks. I had it listed on TUG and Redweek.

I would rent it on Redweek and I wouldn't list it until a year out, so sometime in January.
