Is there a way to trade or exchange into a Marriott property (that is non RCI) i.e. Marriott Aruba Ocean Club using HGVC pts? If so how is it done?

I think SFX or Dial-an-Exchange is your best bet, but someone more experienced might chime in with more detail.

SFX over DAE. Better level of quality inventory. I don't think I have seen a Marriott in DAE, but I have seen the periodic one in SFX. Both might be tough as that is not a sweet spot for either exchange company. A direct exchange might provide a more useful result. You provide a HGVC unit to a Marriott owner in exchange for you using their Marriott week. Look at the Direct Exchange board for someone looking to give up a marriott week.

My vote is for a direct exchange. SFX really stinks at getting prime Marriott deposits at beach front locations. SFX might be okay for shoulder season but if you want a holiday week or any week when kids are off school, I would not trust SFX to come through for you.

Hey Guys, Im still kinda new here and would like some help on learning the following terms:

SFX Is an independent exchange company
Shoulder Season off season, low season, normally spring/fall

Hope this helped

A little more info: ;)

SFX = San Francisco Exchange Company

Completely independent of HGVC, you can deposit a reserved HGVC week with SFX and use it to exchange within their system. They obtain inventory from properties that are in RCI and II, as well as independent sources. Their inventory is limited, so you generally have to be flexible with your dates and/or locations if you use them.

Great info! Thanks!

Also since you did not know what SFX was it is likely that you don't know what Direct Exchange is either.... look at the marketplace on this site...
