Margaritaville Orlando to add 151 Wyndham timeshare units

Growthspotter, a part of The Orlando Sentinel, ran an article yesterday to announce that construction of 151 units will begin shortly as a part of the Margaritaville Vacation Club at the existing Margaritaville Hotel and residential condos on Hwy 192 on the Southside of Orlando. Units ranging from studios to 4 bedrooms will be featured in the 5 story building to be completed in 2027.

Took me awhile to find something online that confirmed they will be partnering with Wyndham at this location. I can't open Growthspotter unless I pay to join.

Hopefully this MVC resort is added to the Club Wyndham system, and isn't going to end up like Pigeon Forge. It seems large enough that it should be included much like MVC Atlanta was. It'd be nice to have a MVC resort available in the Orlando area in the near future! : :cool:

That seems like it. I was told I reached my limit when I tried on my mobile device (and it blamed me for being in incognito mode when I tried it in incognito :ROFLMAO:) , but on my laptop with ad blocker it was smooth sailing.

Orlando has so much excess capacity, this strikes me as kind of surprising. Especially if this is new construction.

In regards to Pigeon Forge, i've never stayed there, but the place doesn't look that appealing from the outside. They actually have, or had one in downtown Gatlinburg too, same thing. Re-used former hotels, not really resorts.

More options are never a bad thing, but think I will stick to Smokey Mountains or Bonnet Creek (or Star Island/Cypress Palms) and save a ton of points.

New resorts always come in with higher point charts. With Bonnet Creek, Reunion, Star Island, Cypress Palms, and Orlando International all available, this resort will have to offer significantly more than any of the other resorts to justify using a lot more points to stay there.

While Orlando has excess capacity, that doesn't matter. New properties with higher point levels means more points to sell. Hyatt Vacation Club is also building a new resort in Orlando. It gives Marriott Vacations a new sales center than can turn millions of dollars in annual sales. More sales centers means more revenue.

I asked at Margaritaville Nashville if they sell the Margaritaville Vacation Club system and it didn't seem like they pushed it. They were more gung ho on selling Club Wyndham.

Yeah, the only time I've had actual MVC points/contracts pitched to me was at St. Thomas USVI MVC or Rio Mar PR MVC, otherwise it's always either CWA or CWS, even at the hybrid resorts that have both CW and MVC floors/rooms - like Atlanta.
 
This is about sales as a marketing center gas been open at this location for awhile. The Margaritaville brand needs Florida and other warm weather locations. It is likely that rhis brand will see a good bit of expansion, along with, the upcoming Sports Illustrated resorts. Do not expect to see much new Club Wyndham or Worldmark new resorts. Of course, Club Wyndham owners can use Margaritaville units.

CW owners can use MVC resorts - but there are documented limits unless you are an MVC owner.

Other than the captive locations where there are no CW or WM resorts, like the Caribbean, what's the draw? A fancy blender and different decorations, coupled with a smaller room, for more points?

I have heard that at Atlanta, the MV and CW rooms are the exact same size/layout, which apparently is atypical. Just with different decor. Oh, and a fancy blender...

I believe the rooms at Desert Blue are also the same layout/points whether they’re CW or MVC as well (for the regular/deluxe rooms - it looks like CW at Desert Blue has PR rooms that MVC doesn’t have), so it seems typical for split CWA/MVC resorts.
 
We have visited Margaritaville in Orlando/Kissimmee it’s real close to Orange Lake. Lot of restaurants there and a waterpark. Many condos too. We live nearby and have gone to the movie theater there a couple of times. I’m just wondering where they will put a 5 story building there?
