We like Mango's or Deep Lagoon better than CJ's and they are in the same location. Parking can be difficult here, especially during the season. Stilts, located at Crystal Shores, is on the beach and has a nice little menu.

Breakfast-wise, we haven't been fans of Doreen's and prefer Red Rooster. We really miss NeNe's Kitchen that died during the pandemic.

Avoid Nacho Mama's if you like Mexican food. It's terrible. We need to head back to Margarita's some time (they live in our neighborhood), but I can make some pretty good Mexican food.

Pincher's is a smaller chain with about ten locations along the SW Florida coast.

If you are looking for Chinese food on Marco, forget it. Su's Garden wasn't too bad, but it was sold to someone who likes to charge about double for the same.

Love to get a local perspective

Some of the restaurants we enjoyed, some not so much. Since food can be such a subjective experience I decided to try and keep my opinions out of the video as much as possible.

CJ’s has that beet salad my wife enjoys and I can usually find something in the menu that I’ll eat. This trip the shrimp and cheese grits were very good. Last trip the fish sandwich I had was meh. When your coming from the Midwest and back home it’s freezing, sitting in the sun with a cold beer is a pretty decent way to enjoy and afternoon. So long as they keep the beet salad my wife likes, I’ll manage to “struggle through” a cold beer and something to eat.

We’ve thought about Deep Lagoon a couple of times for dinner but just haven’t made it there yet. Maybe next trip.

Mango’s has been really good on past trips, but we’ve only been there for breakfast. This trip they weren’t open for breakfast so we didn’t stop in.

Doreen’s Cup of Joe is a popular tourist restaurant. The food and service are average. They were the only breakfast restaurant that had an up-charge for egg based breakfast meals. At the time of the video it was essentially $1 extra per egg. We’ve eaten there every time we’ve been to Marco Island. I doubt we go back in future trips. The price is too high and there are other places to eat.

Nacho Mama’s was closed for “remodeling”. I can’t say about Marco Island, but back home that’s typically code for gone for good.

Beet Salad or anything with the word beet in it doesn't sound appetizing to me. We aren't real foodies, thus why I don't really post food videos on my channel. My wife's ideal meal is Olive Garden, whether at home or on vacation.

Personally, I don’t go anywhere near a sugar beet. Then again my wife is the only one who eat cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving.

We've been going to Marco Island for the holidays for the last ~10 years. I pretty much agree with most of the suggestions here, but would add a few more:

Speakeasy -- Good pizza and Italian dishes in a fun atmosphere. Thursday(?) nights they have karaoke with some pretty good singers most of the time.

Marco Island Brewery -- Large menu, decent food, great beer selection in a large sports bar atmosphere. Always a fun time there, and a great place to spend an afternoon watching a game.

Cocomo's Grill -- Home of the famous fried hogfish. Good seafood selections, and the best place to take your fresh catch if you were out fishing earlier that day. Their Cocomo Bread appetizer is to die for.

Little Bar Restaurant -- Venture out of the main Marco Island area to Goodland, and you will find this gem. Casual, old school place right on the water with an old Florida feel. Food is always good, and if you are there during stone crab season, this is the absolute best place to experience them!

Capri Fish House -- Technically off the island, but only about 15 min drive to Capri Island. Dining in an open-air grass thatch hut literally 10 feet from waves lapping on the shoreline makes for a great dining experience. Large selection of seafood dishes is their specialty. Always a special night out there.

It was mentioned in Doug's video, but another vote for Joey's Pizza, which I think has the best pizza on the island.

And another vote for Pinchers; even though it is a chain, they have consistently good food there at reasonable prices.

Kurt

One thing about Marco Island, there’s no shortage of good restaurants within a very small area.

We had a nice meal at The Crabby Lady on Goodland, great happy hour at DaVinci's, and also some good take out meals from La Tavola (which I would agree with @dougp26364 is definitely an Italian restaurant.

No question some great restaurant choices, many within walking distance which is a nice bonus.

DaVinci’s has a great Happy Hour....Happy Hour started at 5 and people were lined up outside when we arrived at 4:50…We ordered food at the bar during Happy Hour…food was fabulous.
