New Manor Club (Sequel) owner (1st timeshare purchase. Bought resale thanks to TUG). Have a few questions and hoping someone with experience can answer. I have no experience trading.
Is the basic membership to Interval International ok, or does anyone recommend a different (i.e. more expensive membership?) Does any one know if there are any special offers for new members?
I own platinum season (MSE) - 1st use 2013. I will call 12 months ahead and reserve a week I can use in the summer (2 bedroom). If I wanted to perhaps try to lock off, does anyone think it would be a possibility for me to put in a request for Manor Club (MMC - not Sequel) for another summer week or same summer week using my one bedroom side? I heard the units on the MMC side were nicer than MSE, and all dedicated 2 bedrooms. I would also like to put in a request for a fall vacation, perhaps Orlando with the studio side, perhaps for a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom (would request a place with only 2 bedrooms units like Cypress Harbour). To do a search with a lockout do I have to pay Marriott the lock-off fee upfront or can I wait until the unit search is matched? If I cannot get the exchange into MMC, would I then be able to cancel my request and unlock-off my MSE unit and use both sides? Would I then pay Marriott a fee to unlock? I suppose I would have to hold on placing the request for the studio side, as if that is matched I can't cancel my search for MMC? We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (both 7 years old), so we could use a 1 bedroom if needed.
Does this sound crazy? Is it worth it or would perhaps using the full 2 bedroom unit at MSE in the summer and try to purchase a Getaway for the fall week be a better option? Any strategy advice greatly appreciated!
