I noticed an advertisement in The Tug Marketplace which indicated that a Cascades unit at Sheraton Vistana Resort comes with Staroptions and Starpoints. It was my understanding that Starpoints never transferred via resale. Also, does anyone know if the Vistana Resort Cascades is a "mandatory" section. Thank you.

SPs never transfer upon resale whether it is a V or M resort. Only a resale M resort can use SOs for SVN exchanges.

SVR-C is a V resort.

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought the ad was wrong on all accounts.

the owner might have starpoints in his account that he does not want to use anymore and in that case he can make a reservation using them in your name at a hotel of your choice. if this is the situation make sure you have a hard copy of the reservation with your name on it and call the night before arrival to make sure it is still there.

I doubt that is the case because the ad also indicates star options and there is no way that those can be transferred in a resale at SVR. Hopefully who ever has this listing will correct their ad.
