I have read/heard that WKOVR is Mandatory and WKOVRN is Vountary form more than one source. I was even told this by a SVO rep on my most recent vacation there.
I see it listed as mandatory in all the FAQ info.
Can anyone spread any light on this?

Yes I can...
They are lying to you. I have the Owner's Manual (OM) for WKORVN - it is essentially idential to WKORV. In the section that deals with this - it does not disallow SVN membership upon transfer of ownership. This has been discussed and finalized in a thread here on TUG a while ago.

btw - the terms 'M' and 'V' are not discussed in the OM

In March of 2007, I bought WKORV-N on the resale market. (FYI, I paid $52k for OF. You could probably get one for $40-45k now.)

I pay SVN dues and have 148,100 StarOptions assigned to my 2 bdrm villa. My account on MyStarCentral says my exchange company is SVN. A few months ago, I traded to WSJ for Jan 2009 with my StarOptions.

Both sides of WKORV are mandatory. Princeville, on Kauai, is voluntary.

Sales people will tell you whatever it takes to get you to buy from the developer - if it isn't in writing - don't believe it!

BTW - I will stand by the FAQ as being accurate - not because I wrote it, but because it was a group effort and is updated regularly. I do make mistakes, but fortunately there are a lot of smart Tuggers who contribute to Owner Resources as well.
