Lowest offer per Abound point that you received during a presentation?

At Westin Nanea, we were offered 2,500 Abound for $17 per point.

Edited to change to Abound from Bonvoy. We did receive 40,000 Bonvoy points.

The $17 dollars per point seems very high for 2,500 points. Was the $17 the full list price or was this net of a discount? Does anyone know the current discounts from list price for various purchase levels?

Example from 2 years ago - The list price during the summer of 2022 was $16.08 and our 5,000 purchase was discounted by 20% to $12.86. We were also able to enroll 7 weeks and received 10,000 Plus Points.

Be careful - The downside of our purchase coupled with enrollments is our inability to use the volume of points we can generate from the newly enrolled weeks. When we resort to renting here and there to pay our maintenance fees we feel threatened. Of course, sales personnel told us we could rent out point reservations during the presentation to cover our maintenance fees.

2500 Bonvoy points is worth about $21, total, not per point. Bonvoy points are worth, on average, $0.0084/point.

Maybe you mean Club Points (Abound points)?

Assuming the points fees are not dramatic, I'd say so. I went back and checked my numbers and it was $8.50 PP up front and 0.44 Euro PP in fees current. Was that a Gold week?

Abound. I did edit my post.

Even if I could have gotten the price down to $10 per Abound point, I was considering, more or less, the value of the Chairman's Club status we lucked into with our purchase at Westin. I think we have 16,665 points. I don't look at it much, won't use them at all, but that's my recollection.

Don't gasp... certain corporate MVC folks will sell points only for about $8 per point to Chairman's Club level owners. I have been offered twice, once during a Zoom owners update just after we became Chairman's Club level when Vistana ownership was combined and another one more recently in person. Both said only corporate sales can make the offer. Either way, it does not entice me.

I've been offered a bundle at $6.23 per point ($17,600 for 500 MVC points and a week at Shadow ridge that converted into 2,325 points, for a total of 2,825 points.)

Interesting. Where were you offered this? We have done a lot of presentations over the years and, except during covid, were always told the 1,000 deals offered no discounts. In fact, several times they were going through the system and selecting the options in their screens and the system would automatically apply the discounts and the small packages didn't offer any discount. Perhaps the 5% is more the exception rather than the rule? Or in certain situations they have some leniency that they can use to entice a person to buy if they think the 5% is enough of an incentive to close the deal.

Yes, it was a Gold 1 Bed, although with higher fees 0.62 PP in 2024, but it did also allow enrolment of a Resale Gold 3 Bed Club Son Antem Week for 3,625 Points.

I was offered it at San Diego Pulse and also Park City Summit Watch. This was a year and a half ago so perhaps it has changed. The price at that time in Park City was $16.08 and after the 5% it was $15.28. Those numbers stuck in my head because my Encore pricing at San Diego a month earlier was below that at $14.54 and they offered me 5% more off that price for 1,000 points, 10% off 1,500 pts.

Not bundle. Just pure points. They would sell me any number (x250) that I wanted.

Last April we were offered a bundle (1500 trust points + one week Cypress Harbour = 1975 point, or 3475 points total) at 7.84 per point. Presentation, err owner update, was at Shadow Ridge while staying at DSV II.

Our ownership is 100% resale but Chairman's Club level, grandfathered in (barely in time and had no clue we would get that level).

$8.00 per point is not bad, but we own 16,665 X $8.00. We paid $80,000 for our two Westin OFC 2 bedroom lockoffs. $133,320 for basically what we already have. That's not terrible; however, you cannot buy developer into what we own because they won't sell it to us. They are selling some stupid Westin resort view crap that I don't want.

One thing that Cheyenne at Westin said (after we had 3 exchange weeks into Westins) is that you cannot exchange into Westin through II. It's not possible. She said she checks every day for Maui Westins and Marriott and never sees anything. I told her we were able to get in for three weeks, and she said, "Only because of the fire." I hate to tell her this, but one year, I had kids all come at various times during our six week stay on Maui, and I had 2 weeks for each one of our kids at Westins and Marriotts, and it was March of 2022.

Bundles at $7-$8 a pt. We were recently emailed an offer after a zoom call on April second. It was 5% off 1000 pts and a gv gold week. Price was 17.54 per point to start but with the week was close to $8 overall. We are at our max at this point but it was enticing but we don’t need more

Why would it be tempting to take this offer knowing that resale would be a few thousand dollars cheaper?

And, the bundled week is very likely to have a much higher resale value on down the road should you want to sell it. But, if you get a bundled week make sure it is a good week so far as resort, season, and resale value (check on RedWeek). Be careful, I suspect MVC is dumping some pretty bad weeks under the bundling arrangement which may devalue as much as a points purchase.
