With half the world is eating insects so why all the problem with ants? Try boiling a few shrimp and the ants will either come right to the top or become part of the meal. Hardly could be harmful. In the Navy we had weevils get in the flour and it was all we had so we just told the crew it was sesame seeds and no one seemed to care.
