See you own Marriott: We stayed in Kauai in one of the Marriotts that had the whole oceanview outside on our lanai! Can't remember the exact resort name, but we were right below the Sales Center and the ocean panorama of this unit was spectacular. We also had views of their shamrock-shaped huge swimming pool. Could even see (in the distance) the cruise ship dock.

Since you posted on the Western Board, I'm assuming you are only interested in the Western States? Unfortunately, Christmas is a very difficult exchange, and exchangers usually do not get the best views. If you have your heart set on this, I'd go with a rental.

If you are open to more than just the Western States, you could use your SDO week and put in an on-going request for the new Lagunamar, Cancun, resort, which is all ocean view.

We love Marriott's Newport Coast in SoCal. About 1/2 the units have breathtaking ocean views & about 1/2 of the others have nice ocean views. BUT staying at XMas and getting a great view may be difficult as owners get the first choice.

Not as nice, but every 1 bd unit at Riviera Beach & Riviera Shores in SoCal have ocean front views. Beware that many of the 2 bd units have no view at all.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info...

Thanks for the info. We have been very lucky to have exchanged during Christmas. We have been to Big Island, St Maarten, Mazatlan, Oregon and Washington states, and now we are in Sedona . We usually book a week 51.
Red Rox, my son and I drove to Oak creek Canyon yesterday. The snow hanging from the trees was just great.. is that your real name?

I assumed that the most of the scenic resorts are in Western side of USA, So I have posted my question here, but we are open to other part of the country or the world near by. I would hate to spend cash and rent when my yearly MF for my TS is approaching $ 3,000.00.

Any other suggestions? Kids and wife are always looking to see what dad does next year and it is getting harder to top last year.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.
Phil
