February - Puerto Rico
March - Jackson Hole for ski trip
April - St Thomas/Vincent
June - Asia/Aruba (TBD)
August - Illinois for disc golf tournament and Costa Rica
October - Pompano Beach
December - Colorado for early ski and Orlando for Christmas

That's it for now but will probably squeeze in another trip in the fall.

Yep! My friend will be competing in the Ledgestone Open.

Man I envy you folks. We are in the stage of life of providing round-the-clock care for an elderly parent with worsening dementia. We steal away for short trips when we can to decompress, but for the most part our ability to travel is severely curtailed during this season. I know many here have gone through or are going through the same experience, I give everyone a lot of credit.

We will make use of the last months of our Disney World annual passes with:
Feb: a week in Feb at Wilderness Lodge (Interval exchange)
March: a week at the Beach Club Villas and the Polynesian (DVC ownership)
April: work trip for data collection- 2 weeks rural Pennsylvania
June: a week at Marriotts Aruba Surf Club
August: week in NY to visit Mom
Sept: work trip for me to Berlin and Helsinki, and probably Latvia
Oct: work trip for data collection- 3 weeks in Pennsylvania and the Midwest
Christmas: week in NY to visit Mom.

Whew I’m tired already. Good thing we have a Jan 2027 trip planned to Aruba Surf Club to recuperate.

HUGS to you . . . you and your family have my prayers. I know it isn't easy being a care giver. My DHs sister is providing in-home 24/7 for their Mom. He makes 3-4 trip per year down to Indiana so his sister can go away on much needed breaks for vacation, etc.

I have no idea what the Ledgestone Open is it sounds prestigious. Our nephew used to be into disc golf and apparently was quite good at it.

We were lucky to get a $1 getaway to Westgate in Orlando 4th of July week but I think I will gift it to a family member. Too hot and crowded!

March - OceanWatch Myrtle Beach (although I am casually looking to re-trade to one of the main HHI resorts. Hoping it might be a few degrees warmer)
April - Grand Chateau In Las Vegas and trip to the Sphere
October - Ocean Pointe Palm Beach FL and maybe a night at the Miami Pulse
December/NYE - Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar Puerto Rico

Feeling grateful to have all these booked and it's fun to read everyone else's list. Too bad all I hear is negativity about timeshares. We all seem pretty lucky to me

As for timeshare negativity . . . I think some people have bought in over their heads. It happens because folks fall in love with the resort atmosphere and don't have enough time to give real consideration or research the purchase.

While I no longer own any timeshares, I owned for more than 40 years and LOVED all of the travel I got to do at a fraction of the expense. I only bought my very first one (a 20 year right-to-use contract) from the developer (in the early 1980's). About 20 years later, I started acquiring more timeshares because I did enjoy the first one. But 20 (more) years later, my travel and vacationing evolved, and I've since divested myself of any ownership.

I'm glad you are enjoying yours . . . and hope you stay on top of things moving forward in the event the time comes to get out of timeshare ownership.

Now that my DH David and I are both retired (AND my sister recently retired in November), I'm looking forward to the upcoming year and A LOT of travel. What do you have planned as we ring in the New Year?

My/Our travel will look like a sampling of all of the various modes of vacationing I enjoy!

February/March: Back-to-back cruises (14 days total) out of Miami (with my sister)
March: 1 week in the Smoky Mountains in a timeshare - the 1st year of our 3 Wyndham Certified Exit freebies (with David)
May/June: 2 weeks in Ireland; 1 week in a timeshare rental from a fellow TUGGER plus a week cottage rental (with David + my sister)
July/August: 2 weeks camping in Western NY as camp host near Niagara Falls (with my sister)
September: 1 week in Alaska . . . David won a 3 day/2 night fishing trip so we expanded the trip to make it a full week (with David)
October: 15 night transpacific cruise Los Angeles to Tokyo, with 4 days/3 nights afterwards to do some independent touring (solo)

JUST ADDED . . . my annual road/camping trip west to Yellowstone National Park in late June.

We rang in New Years 2026 in Puerto Vallarta.

Many of the trips include family or friends. Currently, we are in an ocean front penthouse with our family. This unit was an unexpected free upgrade. We are maybe 100 ft away from the waves with a fantastic view.

I learned how to travel like this because of Tug. Thanks Tuggers !!!

A last timeshare trade in late April to Vero Beach on FL east coast.
Taking all the grand kids (8,9,11, 12, and 15) to a Myrtle Beach campground where we are renting an onsite house and or trailer for one week, maybe two, around July 4.
Flying to Calgary in Sept and self-driving Banff to Jasper.
Hoping we won’t have to go back and forth to FL for DH to see heart doctors over the summer. We don’t have doctors up north any longer.

We are on our first 2026 trip - 3 weeks in San Jose del Cabo. Then in May/June we do a 4+ week Road Trip that includes Reno, Park City, Moab, St. George, back to Reno and then Home. Then in October we have 2 weeks in the Williamsburg area. In November is our Annual week Trip to Seaside Oregon.
