Next October the Buffalo Bills are playing in London. I thought I should go for my 65th birthday present. Last time we were in London we stayed at the Marriott Marble Arch, which I hated. Any suggestions? The game is at Wembly stadium.

Best way to evaluate everything simultaneously is to visit the Marriott property websites, look at locations, photos, amenities, etc. and decide for yourself. That's what I do, and altho it takes a bit of homework, I know what I'm getting going in......reviews also help---such as TripAdvisor, etc.

Can also Google "Marriotts near Wembley Stadium" and get a few, then evaluate everything.

I have stayed at 2 Marriott’s in London Dec of 2013 and Dec 2014. In 2013 I stayed at the Grand Residences and it was great we had a 1 bedroom suite that had a separate living room and kitchen. It is in a nice area (mayfair) very close to transportation. In Dec 2014 I stayed at the Marriott Kensington which is more of the standard Marriott, standard room and amenities. The restaurant was good and only about a 10 minute walk to the tube. If I had to pick I would say the grand residence wins for service and quality but is more expensive.

If you are a Platinum or Gold Marriott Rewards Elite member you might also want to check which of the London hotels has an Executive Lounge and what facilities they offer.
This could be a very useful benefit.

Agreed the Grand Res. does not have an executive lounge but the Marriott Kensington does and it is open all day with beer, wine, soft drinks and food starting at 5pm. For silver members I believe it is about 30 pounds per day to use. I am gold and had access but it is well worth it. I would go to the lounge prior to going to dinner or out for the evening

I might have missed this, but are you using Marriott Rewards Points or are you paying cash/credit ?

The Marriott County Hall is very close to Waterloo Station. You can take the Bakerloo Line, the brown line, directly to Wembly if memory serves.

The County Hall is a very good Marriott. Close to all (Westminster Tube), and the Queen's Walk/Path is right there.

ETA: The Westminster cruises are right across the river/bridge from the County Hall, too.

Yes, we too stayed at the Marriott Kensington on our last visit.
As you say, it is more of a "standard" Marriott with no special feel to it, but we like Kensington and it is a convenient base just outside of the centre.
We made good use of the lounge, although it has no windows or view which is a shame.
We would certainly stay there again, but not for a "special" trip.

Here is a quote from the Marriott website
London Marriott Hotel Regents Park

With easy access to Wembley Stadium and Lord’s,
our hotel makes the perfect base for sports fans.

Swiss Cottage Underground station on the Jubilee line
is just a five-minute walk from the hotel.
