I never did this before and I may not sure if I will do it but would it be possible for me to lock off my MOC 2 br and use 1/2 for one week and then book the next week for the second 1/2?
How hard would it be to do this and how would I do it?
Do I have to indicate I want to lock off 1/2 first and book one week and then wait a week until they allow me to book the next week with the remaining 1/2?
Am I taking too much of a chance I wont get consecutive weeks if I am trying to do this for say the 2 and 3 week of June?
Thanks for the help.:)

I am also interested in the procedure for locking off and reserving consecutive weeks at my (soon-to-be) home resort.

If you are dealing with a single week of ownership that you want to lock-off and split into a 1BR and a studio for consecutive weeks, you can call at the 12 month mark and reserve the first side, and then the following week reserve the second half of the unit. You can also do this online, by reserving either the master or lock-off side the first week and the other unit the second week.

You should be fine in June, but be sure to do this at exactly the 12 month mark to ensure you get what you want.

Thanks for the answer.
Also if you would lock off the master suite and reserve a week with that, could you trade the studio for a portion of your destination points?

No - that, you cannot do. However, you can use the points from your NEXT year's TS if you want them, and book the LO from this year, if that works for you. You can then use that other half, or trade it in II. We have this huge and nutty spreadsheet of what we want to do until 2017 - it is all color-coded with points and lock-offs and all kinds of *what ifs* all over the place, so we can visualize what will go where. Looks crazy - helps us with planning. we have found ways to get more nights than we put in to this, by fooling around with points, seasons, trades, etc. - IF IF IF it all works the way we want!

Again thanks for the answer. I really appreciate it. Tuggers are the best.
I think your chart sounds like a brilliant idea.:hi:

Our *chart* look like it was drawn at Hogwarts - by Mad Eye Moody. We have columns for SOURCE - the properties we own, with a block for Master and a block for Guest - both the same color. Nest - CONVERT - gonna use all or part, or trade for points - and how MANY points? Then USE - where we are going with that trade or how we are using those points. Then FORWARD - what leftovers do we have, to send into the next year - and how - II, Marriott, or DC points - we seldom do Rewards points anymore. It's liek chess - If we have a guest room fomr each Place from 2100, and want to use it in 2012, there is a littel blue block in the 2012 USE column that says "BPT 2012 Guest". Once you see it, it starts to make more sense.

NOW - the cool thing is that sometime we GET more than we give. We have our own wacky point system of the Master being with 1.2 and the Guest being worth .8 of the lockoff. This way, when we put in a 1 BR and get a 2 BR, we can keep some kind of track of the value. Same deal with using DC points - we run a little proportion applet on the side that tell us that out of the 3275 we get for MGC, instead of getting 1 Master and 1 Guest week, we got 2 weeks in 1 BR places, plus a couple of days someplace else - easy to see vlue - although we do not factor "season". I might have OCD about this, but I am not downright crazy. We did this really to see if we were being taken by the SKIM, or doing OK - and we are doing OK. Hard to explain here in words - but a good shorthand way for us to see if we are being smart or foolish. Hey - we're Capricorns, anal-retentive, retired music directors, and Clean Freaks - not unlike those HERE that make us feel so at home . . .

If you call in you should be able to book them both consecutively at the 12-month mark of the first week.

Shouldn't be a need (or desire) to wait a week between bookings and risk having gap or overlap day(s) between weeks.

We did this with our Maui 2BDRM in 2007 and it worked great. My kids were younger then so we were very comfortable. Its a tremendous value as well. MF was only $1470 + $75 split fees then so we got 14 nights in prime season for $110 per night.

If you can do it this way of using a Marriott LO TS is very valuable indeed.
