Brendan Ryan of the Seattle Mariners gets an infield single. Then he sees that no one is covering second base, so he takes off. When he gets to second he sees that no one is covering third, so he takes third base as well. So an infield grounder in hole between third and short turns into a runner at third base!!
That shouldn't even happen in A ball, let alone MLB. Give Ryan credit for keeping his head in the game (take that LaRussa), and big old BF by the A's.
