Which one would you recommend? Which is in a better area for restaurants and things to do? Which one is nicer?

Look at LongBoat/Little Gull questions thread in past questions. There are several threads that ask similiar questions.

As far as restaurants both properties are in the same area. It is an easy drive to many places to eat on and off LBK. Same for grocery shopping and things to do. I have posted a link to Little Gull and Gulfstream in thread above. I own at Little Gull so that shows my choice. Gulfstream is nice too, as well as LongBoat Bay Club, all managed by the same co. Anyplace you stay on LBK is as convenient as the other, it's a small place.

Thanks, Jim. What can you tell me about unit # 13? I know it's on the bayside but does it have a porch?

Everyone has thier special place that they love to go to each year. Mine is Longboat Bay Club. The area is so relaxing and wonderful. It takes me about 6 hours and all the stress and tightness in my muscles are gone.

Armandi Circle has numerous places to eat but my favorite is on the fishing pier at Anna Marie Island. Great place to spend an afternoon. We will drive up to Clearwater for one day. There are so many great places to see beautiful sunsets. Longboat Bay Club is on the bay side which is great and its a 3 minute walk across the street to the beach, so it doesnt matter which side you are on both have thier advantages.

Somehow the edit didn't work???????????????? GulfStream is not on LBK , it's on Bradenton Beach. Out of the two Little Gull would def be my choice. I had originally thought you were talking about Gulf Tides and then did an edit but it didn't show up.

I know # 13 well. Have stayed in it. It's next to the pool (12 & 13 are poolside, with #12 right next to pool) # 13 is slightly bigger than #12, same as #14 & #15. We have stayed in units 12-15 and own a week in #15, chosen because it is at the quiet end of the property. We have never stayed gulfside but have been going for 15 years or more. I like the whole property because of the layed back feel. Some need more activity and should look elsewhere. I get plenty of activity in my day to day and like to relax when I'm on the Gulf. Florida is not all Disney and I'm happy about that.

Plenty of shopping down at St. Armand's Circle Plus expensive Restaurants. As a local I go where the food is good and not over priced. PC did a good write up on the Restaurants in the area. I like the "Old Salty Dog" on S. LBK and Duffy's on Anna Maria Island (not fancy at all) and any pier in the area (there are many) For Breakfast "Peaches" Near Shells (Anna Maria) and the Blue Dolphin (short walk out of Little Gull N.)

Yes, it has a porch, wraps around two sides and is off the ground.

Penthouses

The Penthouses at Gulf Stream are only a few of the top-of-the-line units at Gulf Stream. I've stayed at their sister resort (Umbrella Beach resort) and will be staying there again in three weeks. I have an exchange for Little Gull for next year! :whoopie: You can't go wrong with either one!

Gulf Stream offers a few activities (shell hunting and picture frame making, fishing off their pier, and an island tour). The units will have a gulf view but they are across the street from the beach (second floor). The resort itself and the pool are nothing special. The resort is in a great location on Anna Maria Island. I love the area (own at Via Roma and will be there in two weeks too!).

I almost never see availability at the Penthouses (since there are so few units).
