Another fine stay at The Little Gull Cottages, Long Boat Key unit #15. Our weather was fantastic! No rain at all. The week before had seven inches, I’m told. We have been going to the Little Gull Cottages well over 20 years and have been Owners that long. We have been going to Long Boat Key for at least 30 years.
The layout for Little Gull Cottages: Units 1-8 are on Gulf Side with short walk to Gulf. Units on this side all have a Gulf view but 1 and 2 have the best view. They are Gulf front with # 1 having best view of all.
Units 9-16 are Bayside. Units 12 and 13 are nearest pool, which is Bayside. 12, 13, 14, and 15 all have parking under units. (which means you never have to worry about getting out of car in the rain.) The porches are also raised and offer nice view. 12-15 are all 2 bedrooms/2 bath. # 16 is 4 bedroom/2 bath. You have to cross road to get to beach….short walk. Little Gull Cottages is a very quiet place. No activities, except a get together coffee and Danish on Monday. Joining is optional. No pressure here. No sales calls, usually no calls at all. Owners like it like that. Never found it hard to see anything while in the area. Shopping, food, restaurants ALL close by.
This year our unit had new French doors. The grounds were very clean and lush due to the great amount of rain this year. No Red Tide. Have only experienced it on LBK a couple of times in 30 years and even then we did just exactly what we wanted to do.
If you like a quiet, tropical, beach vacation without Mickey and Pluto, you will like The Little Gull Cottages on LBK. If you want Mickey and Pluto, Orlando would be the place to go. As a Floridian born and raised I love the Gulf Beaches, and the LBK/Anna Maria area is my favorite.
I would live in unit #15 if I could.
The soap dispensers in the bathrooms (sink and shower/tub are liquid bath soap.) We bring some Ivory for tub baths. The lights in unit are the new bulbs and get brighter after they are on. Pretty much what we all have now.
