Having recently confirmed LindoMar Resort in Puerto Vallarta for next January, I read with great interest the TUGgers' reviews (although most of them are a little bit old). One of the reviews indicated that the exchanger was phoned by the resort in the week prior to departure to ask if they would like an airport pick up for a nominal fee.....Is this service still offered?
Anyone know who's been there recently?
TIA,
Brian

We go to Lindo Mar every October and have never had that service. I am interested to hear about it.

We just returned from 5 weeks in PV, including a week at the LindoMar through RCI. We were not advised of any transportation offers before we arrived nor when we left.

We loved the Lindo Mar. Every unit has oceanview and at night you can hear the waves crashing even in the back bedroom. The restaurant is quite good and very reasonable. The units are very clean and nicely decorated in typical Mexican decor. Because it is a small resort you will meet many friendly people that you will get to know easily. In contrast we stayed at the Grand Mayan the following 2 weeks and hardly ever saw the same people twice. We are soon to be new owners at the Lindo Mar and are looking forward to spending a week there every year. I have no desire to return to the Grand Mayan, but I understand that everyone has different opinions on what they want. We also learned that we were the only RCI exchangers there during that week at the Lindo Mar. They told me it is a tough exchange because most owners use their weeks especially during high season. Do you know your unit number? The higher the floor the better the view.

We have a 2 bedroom the 1st week and a 1 bedroom for the second week so as I understand the layout with 2bd's on the 1st 4 floors, we will have better view during the second week. With just the two of us, I was thinking of maybe requesting a 1 bedroom for both weeks, since the amount of space is not an issue. Thanks for the input. I have 2 floating weks per yr. and was able to trade them with TPI for the two weeks in April and we are really looking fwd to the time. In our previous stays we were also in Conchas Chinas Area and like you really like the relative isolation with still having access to Old Town. What week did you buy? Ron

We now have a week 8 reserved for for us in :cheer: 2009 as of March 24 for our use with this new ownership by the seller.
What is nice about this ownership that it is NOT your typical Mexican right to use ownership and is managed by Trading Places.

We love the location and that there are less than 50 units and only 6 of the units are 2 bedroom 2 bath deluxe units while 30 units are deluxe 1 bedrooms and 6 other "Standard" units are 2 bed 2 bath.

All units are of the older tradtionail style and are fairly roomy and are ocean front units. Our resort is more of a laid back relaxing ocean front stlye resort. We love the sound of the waves.

We have again traded into to the Lindo Mar for Sept 6 to Sept 20, 2008 for our wedding Anniversery and also again traded into the Lindo Mar for Dec 27, 2007 through Jan 10, 2009 to vacation with.

We now have our 4 regular 2 bed Lindo Mar ownership weeks reservered in 2009 for one week 4, two week 5's and one week 6 to go with our 2 bed deluxe reserve for week 8 Feb 21 -28, 2009.

Being retired and doing at least one timeshare vacation on the average every month is a tough job but someone has to do it and being stuck living on a Wisconsin Lake the rest of the time is also a :abused:terrible budren but we try to make the best of it.

Seeing I am a slow and a poor typer you or others please feel free to call us between 8AM to 8 PM CST if you think I can of any help to you in regard to answering questions about the Lindo Mar.

I will answer that question. The difference between a 2 bedroom standard and a deluxe is that the deluxe has the master bedroom ocean front along with the living area and the second bedroom is in the rear of the unit. The standard 2 bedroom has both bedrooms in the back. Unit 202 is a deluxe. Congratulations on your trade.
Bruce, Hi and congratulations on your new purchase. We are still waiting our closing to be complete and hope to get ours reserved for next winter.

Pat. give me a call as I think you have my telephone and I think can help you a way to be able to book a reservation while you are waiting for your new ownership transfer into your name.

OP go to the resorts website as they have diagrams of the units layouts.

Thanks for the info, Pat. From what I read unit 202's views of the water would be blocked. Would it be better to request a different unit on an upper floor to get the waterviews, or - request nothing, keep the "deluxe" unit and be happy?
Bruce- see you in week 4 of '09?

Maybe, but we will have done 4 weeks on vacationing between now and week 4 in 2009 at the Lindo Mar. It depends if we go to our Hotel On The Cay for weeks 4 and 5 in 2009 if they are not rented out.

But if you wnat to send me a regular email at judybruce@wi.rr.com I will send you or anyone else a email attachment showing the unit locations.
Then you can compare that to the pictures of the resort on the web.

Your unit 202 when facing is on the right side of the enterance and seemingly overlooks the pool and should have a decent look at the ocean.

Maybe Joan can give you a better heads up on 202's location.

Remember that there are only 6 deluxe and 6 regular 2 bedroom units and week 4 will most likely not have any inventory so I suggest you keep what you have.

IMHO I think you would have a very hard time switching because of a lack of availability.

Bruce :D

I agree with Bruce and doubt you will be able to switch units. The resort is really full during prime season. Also we had unit 506 this year and our view was partially blocked by the tall palm trees. Lower units would have had a better view because the palm trees are so tall. I'd be happy with what you have.

Unit 202

If you are on the beach facing Lindo Mar, Unit 202 is the 2nd unit from the right side of building. From left to right it goes:
205/1 bedroom; 204/2 bedroom standard; 203/2 bedroom deluxe; 202/2bedroom deluxe; 201/2 bedroom standard. You will be right above the pool.

We typically stay in 302 or 402, both deluxe units. Good view of the ocean even from 302. We love Lindo Mar!
