Are Wordle and Connections the only ones y’all play here? Anyone doing the newest “Strands”?
Purple by default, duh moment when seeing it 😆

They are the only ones we post. Some play 'em all, lol! I dabble in strands, fun, but I don't often get to it. I like waffle. There are some spelling bee players.

Welcome!!

I don't play any of them every day. When I do, I usually start with Wordle, because it can usually make sense, and I can do it in a few seconds. I get frustrated by Connections sometimes, because it often includes words that those of a certain generation may not know, and I refuse to head down a rabbit hole of Google searches to try and find the connection, like some people do. It can be too age- or activity-specific sometimes, and there is no recourse for a wrong guess. Some of their connections are questionable, at best. I often call shenanigans on them, so I'm kind of ambivalent about it. Other games haven't captured my interest. If I have to think about things too hard, it's not worth the time to play it. A meager pay off isn't worth the effort.

And yes, Welcome to Tug!

Thanks for the welcomes! I pretty much follow your approach and share your opinions. Part of my early morning routine is usually coffee, granola bar, and Wordle then Connections, then usually catch up my Words With Friends games, then depending if I'm motivated to start being productive, or feeling lazy, I'll poke around the other NYT games, and/or Killer Sudoku (app). If I get through all those and haven't moved my butt off the couch yet, I shame myself into at least doing some household chores or something  I also won't google words in Connections, just to win - feels like cheating to me ;)

I didn't get it done today, and I'll be surprised if anyone will, without cheating.

I take great exception to the Blue today. In my entire life, I have NEVER associated those words together. Combined with Purple, also impossible if you don't happen to know how the purple words relate to each other, made eight words at the end for me that gave me absolutely no relation to each other. Even after they told me the connection, I had to take their word for it.

Major SHENANIGANS! today. :D

Purple by default. Blue made sense to me but I never would have gotten purple. Not a fan. 😠

I cobbled yellow together with a semi wrong connection. Would never ever get blue or purple. Spent lots of time trying to find the “4th TV show” — Hack(s), Hero(es), Suit(s) under the “TV shows that should be plural” wrongful connection.

See, that makes sense. And I know what a Hack is, but I never considered it was what they said it was, as a slang noun. I used it as a verb. Looking at them now, I can kind of see their connection, but not in a way that I'd ever have connected them.

Purple was just too specific. Why not list medical terms used by brain surgeons, or brands of East European motor oil? My frustration with this game continues. LOL! :D

I didn't cheat, I promise. Just exceptionally lucky today. I had thrown in the towel and was throwing darts - for a win on the purple!
Never would have gotten the blue (and didn't deserve the purple either).

I was stumped and ready to wrap it up. My (newly found, so I'm not an expert on all lyrics) Swifty heart was wondering if maybe some were words in a song (thinking anti-hero) - I decided those words could be i

n hit songs.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Another purple by default, but todays purple grouping was very clever as opposed to yesterday where I was supposed to know the hit songs of Mariah Carey?

I agree 100% with you Dave. This is the most frustrating game I play. They try way too hard to make the purple unsolvable and often use way too specific items to group together. I more often than not leave this game scratching my head over the purple group. I usually fare a little better on the blue group but it's still mostly hit or miss. I got yesterdays blue group mostly because of the tv series Hacks and Suits. it lead me to think of them as descriptions for jobs and i worked it out from there.

Not today, and just wanted to get 'er done and move on to the rest of my day...
Had 3 of the 4 greens, clueless on #4
And a big DUH on the blue - yes, most definitely should have had that.
Meh on the purple.
