I was thrown by 'check' - bit, up, mate, routine
Vanilla never crossed my mind for green (dry and routine did)
Don't know what MATE is

Purple for all the wrong reasons, silent letters (stretching to fit DELI in there and it worked) and I am not familiar with the term PRIOR.

My first guess was the titles but instead of Prior, I had Brother. As for Prior, I thought the title was spelled with a Y so I just got lucky taking a shot at it. Once again, I had no idea on the purple so only got it by default.

OY, nothing coming together and decided to try my luck. It wasn't to be today. I guess I could have gotten blue, not purple.

I got a solid but blue was dumb luck and purple by default. I had no clue on either one.
