One of the purple words instantly made me see the theme. However for some reason I did not think to apply it to the other words! So purple by 3/4 default.

Purple leaped out at me first, but two of the words were interchangeable. So I worked my way back to it.

Please I saw the purple. Blue by default (had to google the blue category to understand what it meant (then I had to google the definition of the definition of the blue category to understand the definition of the blue category - so most definitely blue by default)).

A Perfect early this morning and I knew them all. Took a while early but then just came together.
 
I thought I saw a connection between two of the purples, and was right. Never heard of the other two.

purple by guessing - even after solved, when I googles the answer, I had no idea who one of them was.
