I’m just finishing up a long weekend in Las Vegas. I’m at the Boulevard location. I took advantage of the room upgrade special. I booked a 1 bedroom plus with studio points. I was here primarily for the NHRA drag races where 10% fans were allowed.

It’s very quiet here and the cleanliness protocols have been very good. This is a nice place at the wrong end of the strip. I really don’t care for it at this end but my group was all staying at the Sahara so it made it easy to walk across the street to catch up with them.

Alas, my buddy Ron Capps qualified #1. Made it to the final round and had his engine blow up in his face while leading the final run.

Sorry about your race guy's engine. That would be a total (you should pardon the expression) drag. :D

You could probably hear the cars run all the way to Mesquite.

Not so much. I do hear cars on the freeway from time to time, but nothing that sounds like drag racers. :D

At one time I owned 2 Weeks at the CasaBlanca in Mesquite just for the races at the Speedway. A whole lot less traffic heading to the track from Mesquite as opposed to staying in Las Vegas. Turns out Mesquite is a pretty neat town...

It's pretty nice, if you like small town living. I like the peace and quiet here, and that it's close, but not too close, to everything I enjoy doing. And post-Covid, that will include event trips to entertainment in Las Vegas. Maybe even to the racetrack. :D

Even though I'm more of a music person (and just heard some Cheryl this morning), IO went this way

Cheers.

Now that was a classic movie with Cage and Shue,

Here’s a video link. 11,000 HP on fire is not fun.
