Question please. How do you know if your pic property is a permanent pic? We brought two RCI properties when we purchased Wyndham, and we were recently told that one may be dropped, but find that to be questionable. If this happens, we will supposedly loose our VIP status.

Thanks!

First of all, please be aware that this would be an EXTREMELY rare situation. A PIC that was approved prior to PIC Express should be permanent. Even if the resort/system transfers over from RCI Weeks to Points, you should be okay, because this does not "convert" your week to RCI points (they ask you to pay for the privilege and it does not happen automatically).

RCI has resorts of varying degrees/conditions. The balancing act is keeping enough quality resorts in the exchange to maintain reputation, while keeping enough "legacy" resorts to maintain at least some availability. This way you can hear about all the great resorts that are part of RCI (true statement) and all the great availability (still true, but not at those great resorts). The point being, it takes a LOT for a resort to lose its affiliation with RCI. And systems have significant switching costs and therefore don't tend to switch between RCI and II.

So - bottom line - I believe they are trying to plant the seeds of doubt and fear in order to help you solve a problem you don't actually have. You could check with the resort where you have the week PIC'd to see if anything is going on you should be aware of. My guess is no.

That's exactly what happened to me at the last update. I was told that if I pass my account to my children, they would revert to silver from gold. I have 490,000 points plus 2 PIC 1 bdrm. I called customer relations, and they verified that as long as I keep it together, it will remain gold.
