My LCD monitor BLACKS out every so often. If I turn the power off and back on it comes back on with the screen that was shown before it went black. It is erratic as to when it does this, some times it will occur after a few minutes of my using the computer, some times it will be hours. ANY advice will be appreciated.

That's what mine did before it finally went all black. It was 1 mo short of the warrenty expiring so I called HP, they gave me a few tests to do , sent me a new monitor with instructions to pack the old one in the new box and send it back.

If your monitor is still under warranty, make a claim. If not, prepare to buy a new one. At the prices you can get LCD monitors today, it's not worth the trouble to have one repaired. Even if you got it repaired, you would still have a old monitor that is most likely technologically obsolete. JMHO. Good luck.:hi:

If your monitor is an HP f1703, they were prone to problems, HP extended the warranties on these to I believe 29 months. The information is available on their website, though extremely difficult to find, you really have to hunt around for it.
