Not for free at least. What we do a lot is buy an extra day and then leave whenever we want, 5-9 PM? and not worry about 12-15 hours or so we don't use.

They generally never do late checkouts in the traditional hotel sense.

I have been able to get a late check out when I was moving to another Orlando Marriott. They were willing to give me a noon check out and that helped a lot as usually the second resort was able to have my room available soon after that.
I'm Marriott Platinum and I don't know if that helped or if I just got very nice people at a quiet time in Orlando

It depends but do not expect a long extension. I recently got an hr at Cypress Harbour leaving on a Tuesday which is not a regular weekly checkout date (added in DC pts to a weekly ressie). My friends leaving Harbour Lake only got 30 min on a Sunday.

Marriott Platinum does help for late check out, but it is definitely not a given at the Time Share properties. And nothing like the 4 PM late check outs sometimes given at Marriott when they are not full (probably due to extensive house keeping for the bigger units and high occupancy rates). We have only gotten a late check out twice -once when we were changing rooms at the same property (and we told them we didn't want our perishables to defrost) and once when a friend of ours somehow managed to talk the front desk into a 1 PM check out - basically unheard of - and we have no idea how she did it to this day?????

We have been told everything from request a late check out (one hour only) the night before to request it the morning of to request it when you first check in...............no matter what we do - we generally hear that all of the late check outs have been given out. Don't know who it is that gets these since Marriott owners should really have first priority - in my humble opinion. Our experience is the knocks from house keeping usually start at 9 AM and continue until the 10 AM check out - an annoyance since the front desk should alert housekeeping when someone has checked out so they don't have to keep banging on doors.

We have overheard owners at the front desk very annoyed because they can't get in 3 or 4 hours early - Marriott does not guarantee anything before 4 PM - but it seems like the priority is getting people in early over letting someone stay an hour or so late.

Anyway, that is our experience.

DH & I both have platinum status with Marriott. At best Marriott timeshares will give us 1 - 2 hours, but sometimes they insist you leave at 10 AM. They do have a limited number of late check-outs so it's a good idea to request one when you check-in. Otherwise if you call the night before they might not have any available.

Why not consider just paying for that last day? If it's cost - just reserve the studio side for the last day. Either pay cash to Marriott or find a DC member who will rent it to you.

Some of the resorts have an Owner's Lounge so that if you're hanging around all day waiting for flights, you'll have a somewhat comfortable wait. Little ones could probably nap on chairs/couches if it's quiet enough. I don't know if Grande Vista has one?

I am thinking about doing that... just need to figure out if we want to go to the parks or hang out at the hotel. We will probably leave for the airport around 3 so I need to figure out if its worth it. Thanks!

play in the pool?

Whenever we leave from KoOlina we always spend the last day hanging around the pool until it's time to leave for the airport. The resort can probably hold your luggage and give you a key to the fitness club to shower and change before your flight?
