I've read previously that Kingsland has an option for owners that have a late flight to refresh after going to the beach on the last day... Basically just someplace to shower and relax a bit after you've checked out. Am I imagining this?

If not, anyone have any details?

I have heard of this, but never used this as we prefer the earlier flight options. I would suggest you call the resort and ask.

Ah yes, but the flights to San Jose are likely limited and one has to take what one can get if one wants a non-stop. We fly AS SJC-KOA, and it is one per day. At present, it is earlier in the day, but with the AS acquisition, who knows what will happen :)

Cheers.

I’d call to dbl check but what we have done is spend the day at the pools there. There are restroom with showers etc where you can get cleaned up and get ready for your flight

This is very true about SJC, though we often drive to SFO to catch a direct flight. UA offers multiple daily flights to KOA. Between my corporate discount, and status perks with UA, they are often the lowest cost for coach. But since we live south of SJC, that means essentially driving past SJC to get to SFO...

Pretty sure Kingsland has a lounge area with showers for guests with late flights.

We utilized this our last trip. You do have to book it ahead and time options get booked up. It’s a room with a shower and couch/table and a tv. I think you get it for an hour? It was convienient but unfortunately when we showed up for ours the AC was not working in it so it was hot and not that helpful🤣 if the ac had been working it would have been a great clean up place before our flight. This next trip we just booked the extra night to have our room available.

We fly American to Chicago out of KOA, so we are always on a late flight. We stay at Kohala Suites and then on our last Saturday burn points for a room at the Hilton Waikoloa down the street. Then we have about 8-10 hours with full usage of all hotel amenities and a room to relax and bathe. To save on parking, I drop the family off at the hotel and leave the car back at Kohala.

Did anyone else read the title and think it was about picking up trash on the beach? :)

Another hack when staying more than a week and changing resorts, I book a day overlap so I'm not homeless on change day. We typically stay several weeks going to Hawaii, so I might get an RCI exchange to Bay Club then add on moving to King's Land.

During the day, you can also park in the beach lot across from HWV, I believe.

Cheers.

Yes! Each time I see title, this is my first thought.
