For anyone who has stayed in a resort view 2 bedroom at Nanea... do each of the bedroom open to the lanai or is the lanai only accessible from the main living area? Thanks in advance for the help.

The rooms I have stayed in - always 2 bedroom resort view, the only access to the lanai was from the main center living room. which was more difficult with younger teens sleeping on the couch. we had to sneak past them in the AM....

Thanks for the responses. I knew what the north was like. Was just curious about Nanea as I thought Lanai was just off living room but website diagram made it look like a door opening from each bedroom. Thx.

In a 2 bedroom suite which is the best of the 3 Westins? Nanea/North/ South?

View/room layout standpoint if booking at 8 months using staroptions. I see quite a bit of Nanea availability but not much of the other 2. Is there something that makes nanea less desirable?

We like the layouts of Nanea 2 bedroom the best, newer (north is being redone though), bigger pantry, kitchen etc. BUT, views are either ocean front or ”island view”. Views are very subjective and I think it scares some people off. The south property has some bad views but rarely to owners at 8 months ( the dreaded parking lot/ mountain). Lots of different opinions on this one And luck can play a role based on the week you are booking And when you check in. More rooms are available on Saturdays than other days as more people check in and out.

Nanea is smaller square feet and only sleeps 6, because it only has 1 pullout sofa. It is not a lock off like the north and south properties.
I think south is slightly better than north jus because it’s slightly bigger

For a 2-bedroom we prefer Nanea because it is built similar to a 2-bedroom apartment and feels more like a home. The 2-bedroom lockoffs at the other two properties are more similar to connecting hotel rooms. The downside to Nanea is a sleeping capacity of only 6 vs. 8 at the other two properties and there is only one washer/dryer while there will be two in the 2-bedroom lockoffs.

If you are reserving with StarOptions, the OF rooms at WKORV and Nanea are better as a group than the OF rooms at WKORVN.

If you are doing an Interval exchange (and therefore have no control over view category), go for WKORVN. Very few of the rooms there have really bad views. At Nanea, about 20% of the "Resort View" rooms look out at one of two multi-story parking garages; at WKORV, perhaps 10% of the rooms have the "dreaded parking lot view" so often discussed on this board.

Full disclosure: We have stayed at each of these resorts -- about 20 total stays.

The 1BR at North and South are popular, so often the 2BR configuration isn’t going to be available, just the studios that are left over. We had a 2BR at Nanea because we couldn’t get a 1BR (there are only 35 or so). It was a ridiculous amount of space for two people, but I loved having the extra bathroom.
