I didn't expect to, but I got an exchange of our 2BR Grande Vista week in March for the same week (2BR) at Lakeshore Reserve. I figured what the heck, no harm in trying. We already had our air reservations so I requested the exact same week with the exact same Saturday checkin and it just came thru yesterday.

Does anyone have a resort map that can be scanned in? I really don't know much about the resort, other than the photos on the website. Are there both villas and townhouses? Is there a way to know which we are getting? (Our certificate from II says 2BR 2Bath, sleeps 6, 8 max. Also, under villa ammenities, it says the 2nd bedroom has 2 queens.)

Does the pool have both a slide and a lazy river?

Is there golfing on site? Are there golf discounts to Marriott owners? Or just owners at Lakeshore?

Anything else I should know?

Hi we are owners at Lakeshore and you will love it! If you check the resort on the my-vacationclub.com site there is a resort map there. We stayed last April and were in the Messina building on the top floor facing the pool and it was a great location.

There are both villas and townhouses and there are 2 bed THs too. Having 2 queens beds in the guest room doesn't tell you whether you have a villa or TH since both floor plans could have them. But again, if you check the Lakeshore Reserve info on myvacation-club.com you will see the various floorplans. The difference between a 2 bed villa and 2 bed TH seems to be that the 2 bedrm TH has 2.5 baths vs 2 baths. So it sounds like you have a villa.

There is a very lazy river but still very enjoyable and 2 waterslides, and a zero entry area of the pool that was popular for those with really little kids.

We played golf - the onsite course is the Ritz Carleton course - its a Greg Norman design and was pricey. I seem to recall that there was no discount due to high season (believe me I asked) but the price was much lower if you played in the afternoon - which we did. We also played over at Grande Pines, Falcons Fire and Hawks Landing - all Marriott courses and we got discounts on all of them.

Let me know if you have any other questions or you want photos of anything in particular - we took tons of photos!

Do you know what the unit code is for your exchange? You will need to log in to II and look at your History. That should give a better idea of the actual unit configuration you have exchanged in to. You should also be able to log in to Marriott.com and bring up your reservation tomorrow and see what the room details indicate.

we traded into a large 1 BR with a kitchen during Spring Break week April 6 -13 and felt fortunate to get the exchange. Understand the JW pool is pretty cool and worth exploring and using their facilities.

The code on II says THMV. The reservation doesn't show up on Marriott.com because it was an exchange. (?)

Check again now. You will have to manually look it up using your name and confirmation number.

If you have a Marriott Rewards number, you should call them and ask to have your MR account associated with your exchange. Then your exchange WILL show up as a reservation under your account, and will ensure you get nights credit. You will have to provide them with the Marriott reservation number on the exchange (usually begins with an "8" or a "9"), NOT the exchange number.

Regarding Lakeshore itself, we (non-owners) like it a lot. There is usually room to spread out at the pool, and shady areas are easy to come by (I can't take the sun all day). We liked the slides, and the lazy river...but as someone mentioned before, it is a very lazy river. We did not use the facilities at the Ritz and JW, but did use the nice walking path that goes across all these properties, and their pools looked very nice, though they have lots of shade. My husband got a small discount when he played the adjacent golf course, but it wasn't a great deal; I think he had to use a fore caddy there, which was an additional expense.

Oh yeah, thanks, dioxide. I entered the reservation number and it says 2BR Villa. 2nd BR has 2 queen beds. Sounds like a dedicated 2BR (not lockoff).

Thanks for the great info, tiel.
