Has anyone ever asked HGVC to push the 2 beds together in the 2nd bedroom of 2 bedroom plus units.

We have 3 units booked with all couples and all Kings are preferred since we will have a couple in each bedroom.

With the BP booking I dont believe there are any 2 king units to request.

Any other tips or suggestions?

Two bedroom plus units do have 2 double beds which will sleep two adults just fine. You could request 2 doubles but of course no request is guaranteed.

I've been looking into this. It seems all of the OF rooms only have 2 twins in the second room. As far as the OV rooms go, 2 of the 2 Bus on each floor have two doubles instead of twins. All the rest are twins. No Kings or queens outside of the 1st BR. Did you already stay? How did it go?

You are correct in your assessment of the bed situation - we've owned both OV and OF at Lagoon and have stayed there EOY for over a decade. That said, we've never cared about double vs twin beds in the 2nd bedroom of the OV and so never requested the doubles. High Floor, Diamond Head side has always been our request and we've always been given Diamond Head...on floors as low as 6 and high as 23.

So you like the Diamond Head side better? Do you have any elevator advice or tricks?

So you like the Diamond Head side better?
We do. The views from the OV rooms are highly variable and on average those from the Diamond Head side are better - in particular you never feel like the Ilikai Hotel is staring you in the face. Also, our experience (aside from an unfortunate night sponsored by Red Bull) is that the music coming up from events on the Great Lawn is enjoyable. And one year we got great seats to see the rooftop Luau from 2360 (the Luau has once again been moved from the Great Lawn to the parking garage rooftop).

That said, if you are two people staying in a 1BR I would recommend asking for one of the Marina side xx68 1BRs. They are small compared to the other 1BRs because of a staircase but the views overlooking the Marina are wonderful (the grandparents were in one before we bought our 2nd Lagoon week).

Do you have any elevator advice or tricks?
Be patient, avoid peak 'travel' times, and be willing to go up to go down (or visa versa). Most of the time the elevator isn't an issue, occasionally it's a mild annoyance, and only really a 'problem' on Saturday morning when you (and everyone else) is trying to leave with luggage.

I think most of the elevator complaints come from people who have never lived in a high rise.

Interesting. We were two staying in a 1BR and explicitly requested not to have xx68 because of the staircase. We were on the OV side and it was grand, with a great view of the Friday fireworks. I can see that Marina would have been OK, but we really liked our view.

Cheers.
