We were recently in Mazatlan and as we own at La Jolla we decided to do an update when caught on the street and offered 2000 pecos to attend.

We found out they have changed the name to Punta Pacifico with a new owner.
they have a new program called Amazing Memories Club. They want to buy out La Jolla owners and have them buy into the new program. We were not interested but would be willing to sell them our membership in La Jolla.

They would give us a certain amount for our membership and the payment would be made in the states through a company by the name of Bloomberg Holdings Enterprises. Has anyone had the same experience and did you get paid by the company???

Has anyone dealt with Bloomberg Holdings Enterprises with regard to selling your timeshare?

Punta Pacifico is currently buying our La Jolla timeshare in Mazatlan and this is the company that we will be dealing with in receiving our money. They list a main office in Atlanta, GA.

Make sure you dont send any money for any fees or anything before you get your money. A quick Google search of Punta Pacifico throws up a bunch or red flags.

If they are selling your timeshare, why would Punta Pacifico need to be receiving your money (notice what I bolded when quoting you)? Any money that has to paid to complete a sale (transfer tax, closing costs, documentation fees, etc.) would come out of the proceeds of the sale.

Don't count on it! I have read some posts on Trip Advisor by other members.

They tried that with us, but we chose to pass on that wonderful opportunity. It was like they were going to give us $$$, but we had to pay them $15,000 to "re-up" as members before they would process that big payment.

We did pay a little bit to get the Senior Certificate where we never pay MF again, but can come for our month of June. At least they will not come after us if we do not pay any more or do not come. We asked to do the no pay unless you go like the Mayan Palace and at first they said yes and changed it to the Senior Certificate.

The Villas are certainly going downhill because so many people do not have to pay MF and they only have money from Sales. The Tower is not complete.

We only stayed a week of our month this past June. We have Diamond 2 - upstairs 2-bedroom in the first villa overlooking the pool, beach, and pool bar. Spectacular view, but we have to drive there in order to have shade on the balcony after noon.

Reputable resale brokers do NOT charge upfront fees.

If this outfit is asking YOU to send funds to THEM, there is an excellent chance that this is a SCAM.

This is a common scam - especially with timeshares in Mexico.

I don't trust any company associated with timeshare whose name can be confuscated with a highly regarded US business name or whose name is so generic as to make researching them impossible. These names are selected for a reason, and it isn't a benevolent one.

Update on the past posts. We finally have received an email saying they have sold our timeshare and the disbursement company is White Mountain Holdings. Of course they want us to pay some fees that the bank in Mexico requires before they will wire us our $76,000 plus! They said we would get the fees back after we received our payment!!!. I have done some research on the name and the phone number that called me etc. It certainly sounds like a scam!! We have not given them any money and will not give them any. We will pass on the offer since it is too good to be true!!

Well, the LaJolla/Punta Pacifica has a new name in 2017 - Bahia Encanto. We thought we would go again since we do not have to pay MF. We arrived on June 1 and left June 6. Our unit was in terrible shape (Check out the photos in the link by my signature.) and the A/C went out on one side of the unit on June 4th. We packed up on the 5th and left early on the 6th even though we had planned to stay 2-4 weeks. This was the 3rd time that an A/C unit has gone out when we were there and they just snag one off of another building and put it on the roof.

I doubt that we will ever go back. At least we bought the month of June for about the same price as a week at most Mexico resorts and had extremely low MF and now none. We spent the entire month for 6 years and partial time during other years, so it is kind of like an old vehicle - not worth much, lots of wear and tear and costs too much to keep it up.

So, the offer of $76,000 plus is a scam for sure. No one would pay that much for anything at this resort. The only activity is timeshare sales.

After you look at the 2017 photos - take a look at the 2009 photos futher down the page. It looked great and we had towels and nicer appliances.
