@Red elephant Sounds like some nice vacations. I think our unit is 8200 or so points. How much of vacations like these would it buy?
It depends on when you travel . Aruba in the fall is cheap like 2350 points for a week for 1 bedroom. St kitts is 2700 vs 4125 I used for peak Jan/feb and that’s 2 bedrooms.
Marbella Spain was approx 2700 in May for 2 bedrooms. For the most part I only need 1 bedroom so that’s how I am able to maximize the use of points.
We like Lakeshore reserve in Orlando as it’s driving location for us. December it’s 1250 points for 1 bedroom and 1950 in October.
So your points will go a long way.
Also this year I used points to go to Ko Olina in September hoping the water temps will be warm enough. And just exchanged on interval for 2 weeks in 2 bedroom at Nanea using Sheraton Broadway resort.

What resorts and how much can you stretch your points to trade in Abound?

We are debating whether to deposit and try Abound or just cut bait and "risk" it with our existing Vistana traders. We own an EOY so these are 2 years decisions.I have to remind myself that we can always pick up another nonenrolled unit if we want to use the resort or SOs.
We have 6200 Abound points from our WKORVN 2BR IV which we couldn't use in 2024 so banked and will be using 5400 of those points in September this year for a family vacation in 2 x 2BR at the resort in France (~30 mins outside Paris). Looking at using the remaining 800 points for 1-2 weeks this year through the Marriott Vacation Club Destination Escapes program.

Here is the points chart care of Steven T, there are some sweet spots where Abound is better than VSN but you might need to spend some quality time with both sets of points charts to find them 🍹

Renting club points to use in Abound is an option that you can use in the off years and experiment with booking club pints without the commitment of owning

How long do you have to use Abound Points? Is there good availability?
You rent for a specific usage year and need to use them in that usage year, or they're gone! e.g you can rent 2025, 2026 or 2027 usage year points. You can't bank or borrow them into another year.

As with everything, availability depends on what you want and when. If you want Hilton head for 3 weeks in winter, you're probably going to have no problem. If you want a 3-bed in Hawaii in prime Whale season, you might struggle, or you could get lucky. The reservation window opens 13 months ahead, about 50% or available inventory is released then and the rest at 12 months, and then inventory goes in and out all year, with a surge around the end of Sept and end of Oct election deadlines.

I think it might vary with status level, but at least for Chairman level, you have two years to use the Abound points that you get from converting your unit. I recall 18 months for some other levels, but I'm not sure.

In Maui, there are seasons that take less than 6200 Abound points to stay in a 2BR. There are also seasons that take more.
