I know both are ocean view, am I correct that the TBOV is better than ZZAA?

And Second question, if I were trying to make a points reservation to match up - 2 Bedroom TBOV would be 2 Bedroom (One Entry door?)

Both are a two bed ocean view units. One (ZZAA) is a lock-off and one (TBOV) is just a two bedroom.

either one will be great

here is the TUG thread with the codes

I already looked them up using the Marriott.com Room detail hack and knew they are both 2 Bedroom OV.
TBOV appears to have more sq feet so wondering from someone who has stayed there if the TBOV is better or not.
At some resorts the dedicaed 2 bedroom is better and at some it is not.

With ZZAA you will be most likely in Kona or Moana towers. TBOV will only be in Naia tower. Size wise they are the same except some units will be a little bigger or smaller depending on where the units are located. IE the units at the end of the buildings tend to be a little larger.

If this matters to you, the units in Kona and Moana have sliding doors that allow you to have a little study. It is a great area to put a roll away bed instead of using the sofa bed in living room. In Naia, the master bedroom feels larger because the sliding doors were never put in.

I prefer TBOV because we like being in Hale Naia -- but I would certainly take either reservation!

Best,

Greg

I actually have both held right now.
Any reason you like Naia more?
Figure I will be happy either way but since I have a choice.

We prefer TBOV. Layout is similiar, but the 2nd bedroom feels (is?) smaller in ZZAA. Take ZZAA only if you need a separate entry.

Sorry no help as never been but interested to know what the "room detail hack" is?

It is the closest building to the ocean and has direct ocean views (Hale Kona is slightly angled, so the comparable ocean view is only from the balcony). Additionally, because of the way it is angled, you can often be shaded from the sun when you are on the balcony, whereas Hale Moana is highly impacted by the direct sun for much of the afternoon. I really like that the BBQ grills are right out "on the point" so you can have amazing sunset views while grilling. Finally, we spend most of our time at the adult quiet pool or in the lagoon, and it has close proximity to both (although Kona is better for immediate access to adult pool). But the first two reasons are the most compelling and reason we also try to reserve the single door entry.

We give up two things by doing the single door entry. There's no kitchenette now, so you don't have a second refrigerator for drinks, nor do you have the infrastructure for additional place settings. The second thing is that Hale Kona has a little sun room off the Master 1BR (I think Moana does too) -- and we have been able to put a roll away in it and create a private bedroom for our son. This was useful when we had another couple in the lockoff and it kept Jack in a separated space.

@frank808 may have other insights, because he basically has permanent residence at that property. I think you will enjoy either one!

Best,

Greg

I just received a confirmation for HZZAA. I know the last four letters indicate a 2BR OV unit. What does the H stand for? Perhaps Marriott inventory?

Best regards.

From this thread found in the Weeks FAQ sticky....

What do the D and/or H mean at the beginning of Marriott II Unit Codes that have five characters?
The best we have been able to determine is the following; D indicates that the inventory came from a Marriott DC points bulk bank and H indicates the inventory came from a weeks Marriott based bulk bank. Four character Marriott II Unit Codes indicate the inventory came from an owner deposit.
