I have AT&T DSL at home and it includes dial-up access at no additional charge. When I'm traveling, if there isn't a local number available I have used my calling card and called back to my local number and at $.04 per minute, been able to take care of the business I need. It's not ideal for surfing, but checking email, etc. it works.
