For all the debate on Koala's minor presence compared to Redweek and for all the dissatisfaction with Redweek's policy changes.

I haven't seen You Tube for a bit but today they were the lead ad at the top of the upcoming video's bar to the right column.
Then within minutes up comes a break-in/pop-up ad complete with their own video about their services.
Seems like they are trying to compete.
Maybe this is old news, but a first for me.
I'll probably have to try them.

I saw an ad while I was playing Words with Friends.

The ads seem to be targeted toward people who own timeshares, right?

It's like the meme:

"My husband asked me why I was whispering in the house. I told him that Google is listening to everything we say. I laughed, he laughed, Alexa laughed, Siri laughed and the Tesla laughed."

I watch a fair bit of YouTube and haven't seen the ad yet.

saw two of them awahile back comparing themselves directly to redweek.

I have seen their videos, on their channel, that shows this. Just never as an actual ad run before, during or after another video. I've also not seen their display ads that the OP mentions shows up above the suggested videos.

Right. I just searched YouTube for Koala ads. Seems they have a YouTube channel with some curated content. Good for them. Put some competitive pressure on RedWeek.

I've seen those ads for Redweek. I suspect these ads are all part of Google's ad-targeting universe where you search or use something and ads for it follow you around.

You look at Koala online and you see Koala ads and I look at Redweek and see Redweek ads. Someone else might see something totally different.
