As a new Ko 'Olina owner, this was a shocker ...at the bottom of my confirmation....

Friday, July 3, 2009 - Friday, July 10, 2009 ( 7 nights ) PLATINUM MTN VIEW Additional fees may apply. Plus tax when applicable.
  • On-site parking, fee: 20.94 USD daily
  • Valet parking, fee: 26.18 USD daily
Wow, $140 plus the car rental fee for the week. Maybe taxis would be better but they say the taxi from the airport is $100 as well.

I do not remember being charged for parking.I am a Ko Olina owner also.

I believe this applies only to renters. Not owners or exchangers. We were in Ko Olina earlier this year and no parking fees. I slightly recall the info was listed on our interval info that there was a fee. A quick call to the resort will allay your fears. Enjoy!!!

Thanks, great suggestion - I called the Resort and they confirmed that owners coming to their home resort receive FREE parking (or $5/day valet parking). Great to have such helpful TUG'rs

When I went to Ko'Olina four years ago someone on TUG suggest getting the valet parking for the week. I did and it was great!

Indyhorizons is correct. Just returned from a KoOlina exchange in July and there was no parking charge.

Can anyone confirm if those who stay there on a Marriott preview package have to pay parking or not?

Parking garage is usually full

We traded into Ko Olina in Feb. 2008 for two weeks using our two off-season Marriott Grande Oceans. When we would get back to the resort to park, Marriott had taken most of the parking for the valet parking. Look from the windows by the elevators and you can see that Marriott has moved the moveable planters so far into the top floor of the garage, causing the parking shortage. So, we (and four other cars) would waste the $ 4/gallon gas, and would spend 5 minutes going around and around to find there was no parking available. Tell the valet that when you drive up and the valet takes the car for no charge to you. YOU GET TO PARK FOR FREE IN VALET. That happened almost every day that we DROVE OUT AND RETURNED AFTER 8-9 pm, so you have free valet parking anywaY!

Again, nickel and dime you to death is the new motto for the Marriott. Why are they doing this? You can keep your fancy hotel chain resorts as our little independent resorts don't do this. I wished Marriott wasn't getting so greedy but they are. Sigh. :annoyed:

PS. Now you have posted your remark (in red by me), they will most likely make a stop to that somehow so you will be charged too if they can make an extra dime this way.
